ENArticle aimed at an exploration of social cohesion theory and models taking into account the socio-economical context of Lithuania. The analysis of social cohesion theory and models reveals that there might be country-specific models of social cohesion, but there is no agreement on a unified perspective and empirical indicators of these models in social cohesion research. The concept of social cohesion, being a multi-faceted and a multi-dimensional concept can be broken down into social capital and social inequality domains; however the future exploration of the country-specific models of social cohesion requires the development of their measurable dimensions as well as their indicators.
