ENArticle aims at revealing the phenomenon of the development of entrepreneurial skills and personal qualities of students in higher education institutions (colleges) within the model of simulated business company. The author carried out a qualitative research based on the phenomenological theory, which allows exploring individual s experiences in developing their entrepreneurial skills as a phenomenon. The phenomenological approach allowed paying greater attention to the interpretation of the experiences of the research subjects and resting less on the researcher's actual experiences. The research aims at a new, wider look at the phenomenon and its understanding (in this case – the development of the .students' entrepreneurial skills), because phenomenology allows revealing the essence of phenomena, the manifestations of the essence of the object in the individual's consciousness, it allows knowing cognition itself and its subjective meanings. The research employed the method of an interview, which reveals people's experiences and perceptions in the best way. The chosen method allows approaching the students' and lecturers' perceptions in the reality of the phenomenon of developing entrepreneurial skills and construing knowledge. A semi-structured interview was applied, by presenting open-ended questions. The main advantage of the semi-structured interview is that it provides exhaustive systematised data, while remaining informal and carried out as a conversation. While analysing the data, the units of meaning were singled out reflecting the informants' experiences and attitudes, connected with the research questions. A target criterion based selection was applied for the interview sample, according to which persons or events from certain environments are selected deliberately. This is done to get important information which is impossible to get in any other way. The type of target information is the selection of maximal variants. It is aimed at making sure that conclusions reflect the broadest possible range of efficiency parameters of the simulation business company. The most important efiiciency parameters of a business company were projected and data which could describe these parameters was systematically selected for this. The internal validity of the data is described by the valid causal relationships revealed by the researcher, while conclusions are based on the concrete data. The internal validity of the data is endorsed having analysed the obtained data together with the informants by using the mechanic data recording and saving equipment. Data representativeness is ensured by applying triangulation which means collecting data about the same object from different sources. [From the publication]
