Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje aprašoma M.J. Kirton adaptyvumo novatoriškumo vertinimo metodika, kuri, kaip teigia jos kūrėjas, gali būti naudinga psichologams, vadybininkams, edukologams ir kitiems socialinių mokslų specialistams, susiduriantiems su komandinio darbo, konfliktų sprendimo, pokyčių valdymo problemomis. Aptariamos šios metodikos galimybės, jos palyginamos su kitomis kūrybingumo vertinimo metodikomis. Taip pat analizuojami empirinio tyrimo duomenys, išryškinantys kai kuriuos šios metodikos ypatumus bei jos taikymo Lietuvoje problemas. J. Kirton test on adaption - innovation.

ENThe aim of the present study was to investigate the possibility to measure individual differences in creativity, problem solving and decision-making using the Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory (KAI). 193 Kaunas University of Technology students completed a preliminary Lithuanian form of the test. Statistical analysis of the data has shown that the internal reliability of the preliminary Lithuanian form of the inventory is sufficient (the Cronbach Alpha for the responses was .85). Distribution of the scores is close to a normal curve. Distribution of the inventory items over the possible scoring range has shown that most of them discriminate according to their individual difference quite well. But the mean -core of the Lithuanian students' group (87.67) was significantly (p<0.05) lower than the general population mean scores in UK (94.9), USA (94.98), Slovakia (95.06), etc. which shows that these students tend to be more adaptive than the population of the other countries. It was also significantly lower than theoretical mean of the scale, which equals 96. There is a possibility, thus, that the social cultural environment could influence the students' scores. However, this doesn't correspond with the statement of M.J. Kirton, the creator of the inventory, who claims that adaption-innovation preferences remain stable over time and culture and represent stable personality dimensions distributed normally over the population with a centrally placed mean. Thus, the construct validity of the inventory and its prognostic value are to be further investigated. The differences of adaption-innovation in various social and cultural groups are to be also examined in order to find out more empirical data about the influence of the social environment on creativity and problem solving.
