Summary / Abstract:

ENTeenage phenomenon is especially characteristic to the western culture and is closely related to many factors forming the same culture. One of such factors is the demand for a specific language, which is characteristic only to a particular generation. Undoubtedly, one of the most obvious communication instruments of a new generation is multimedia technologies. Therefore, the analysis of the demand and the expression of such a language in the sphere of multimedia technologies were selected as the object of the report. The critical evaluation of this issue may positively influence not only the professional preparation of future specialists in this sphere but also their ability to understand their own needs as well as the needs of their students. In the report we analysed the conception of multimedia technologies, the present and possible relations of teenagers as well as the youth’s specific language with the forms of its artistic expression, the social aspect of the search for this language. In the article, we discuss the problem of the relation of audio and visual thinking that determined not only the perception of computer sound editing programs but also the visual perception of an acoustic space. In the research the language is considered as the means allowing to communicate and express oneself not only orally but also through digital multimedia technologies that use – text, computer graphics, animation and video techniques.Having carried out the analysis of computer sound editing software as a phenomenon reflecting all features characteristic to multimedia technologies, and avoiding absolute dominance of the visual ones, the following conclusions were made: a direct and constantly changing relation exists between multimedia technologies, the language as the means of expression and communication and features characteristic to teenagers; when changing the conception of sound and image interrelation, a cognitive multimedia theory must be revised as well; the majority of features characteristic to multimedia technologies are specific to computer software. Therefore, when preparing a multimedia specialist, assimilation of applied software may become the essential part of such specialist’s education. [From the publication]
