Istorijos vyksmo modeliai ir tradicijos sąvoka

LTPosūkis link tradicijos temos istorijos filosofijoje atsiranda kartu su siekiu aptikti istorinės sąmonės ir savimonės vaidmenį veiklos bei gyvensenos vizijų formavimuisi. Šis straipsnis skirtas bendrais bruožais aprašyti savitarpio įtaką tarp tradicijos sampratos ir istorijos vyksmo modelių. Straipsnyje išryškinama keletas istorijos filosofijai būdingų klausimų, į kurių svarstymą būtinai implikuota vienokia ar kitokia tradicijos samprata. Šie klausimai yra: istorinio įvykio ir istorinio konteksto santykis; istorinio laiko vienijimo ir schematizavimo tendencija; istorijos supratimo įtaka veiklos modeliams. Tradicija mokslinėje istorijoje gali tapti arba istorinių veiksmų fonu, arba terpe, kurioje brendo istorinių veikėjų mintys ir veiklos principai – abiem šiais atvejais tradicija suprantama kaip nedinamiškų reiškinių visuma, kaip visuomenės kaitai trukdanti inercija. Straipsnio tikslas – atskleidžiant tradicijos sąvokos priklausomybę nuo istorijos vyksmo sampratų, iškelti klausimą apie patį tradicijos fenomeną, jo dinamiką, taip parodant, kad tradicija nėra nei vien kaita, nei grynas pastovumas ar inercija – jos dinamika kur kas sunkiau schematizuojama. Suprasti šią dinamiką svarbu dėl to, kad nereflektuojama tradicijos sąvoka nemoksliniuose kontekstuose lengvai tampa radikalių diskursų centru. ENThe turn towards the topic of tradition in the philosophy of history comes together with an attempt to identify the role of historical consciousness and self-consciousness in the formation of the visions of action and the way of life. This article aims to provide a general description of the interrelation between the concept of tradition and the models of historical process. The article highlights several questions characteristic to the philosophy of history, the discussion of which necessarily implies some conception of tradition. These are the questions: the relation between a historical event and historical context; the tendency of the unification and schematization of historical time; the influence of the notion of history on the models of action. In scientific history, tradition can either become a background of historical events or a medium which gave rise to the thoughts and the principles of action of historical actors; in both cases, tradition is understood as a totality of non-dynamic phenomena, inertia that prevents social change. The article aims to show the dependence of the concept of tradition on the concepts of historical process, thereby posing the question about the very phenomenon of tradition and its dynamics. The article argues that tradition is neither change, nor pure immutability or inertia – its dynamics are far more difficult to schematize. It is important to understand these dynamics because unreflected concept of tradition in non-academic contexts may easily become the focus of radical discourses.
