Pirmoji lietuvių autoriaus raštų serija : projektas ir rezultatai
LTStraipsnyje apžvelgiamas svarbus lietuviškos knygos, jos leidybos istorijos reiškinys – vieno autoriaus raštų leidimas. Kalbama apie vieno autoriaus raštų serijos pradžią: idėjos atsiradimą pirmuosius sumanymus ir konkrečius mėginimus. Raštų leidimo idėja užsimezgė lietuvių spaudos draudimo laikais – 1899 m. „Tėvynės sargo“ žurnale ją iškėlė tuometinis jo redaktorius J. Tumas–Vaižgantas kalbėdamas apie būtinybę 100–mečio sukakties proga perspausdinti M. Valančiaus raštus. Vieno autoriaus raštų daugiatomį leidimą pirmasis sumanė ir jo prospektą 1900 m. pateikė taip pat Vaižgantas. Toks raštų leidimas buvo siejamas su tautos ir lietuvių literatūros prestižu, taip pat su spaudos atgavimu ir laikytas visos tautos reikalu bei rūpesčiu. Straipsnyje aprašomas M. Valančiaus raštų leidimo projekto įgyvendinimas: lėšų išeivijoje rinkimas, leidybos reikalų organizavimo veikla. Valančiaus veikalų leidimo rezultatai buvo kuklūs – pirmųjų dviejų tomų leidimui išleista gerokai daugiau lėšų nei planuota, beveik nepaisyta pirminės Vaižganto pateiktos tomų struktūros, sudėties ir apimties. Valančiaus raštų leidimo istorija buvo reikšmingas lietuviškos knygos ir jos leidybos raidoje kaip pirmasis, nors pradėtas ir nebaigtas, mėginimas leisti vieno autoriaus raštus, jų seriją. Vertos dėmesio ir pastangos stipendija bei biografijos parengimu pažymėti Valančiaus šimtmečio sukaktį. „Tėvynės sargo“ projektą paskelbus, radosi vis daugiau naujų sumanymų leisti kitų lietuvių autorių raštus. ENThe article reviews an important phenomenon of a Lithuanian book, its publishing history - the publication of one author's works. It is discussed about a beginning of the work series by one author: the emergence of ideas, the first plans and concrete ideas. The idea of publishing works started during the ban of Lithuanian press in 1899. It raised was raised in "Tėvynės sargas" by its editor J. Tumas-Vaižgantas when he spoke about the necessity to republish the works of M. Valančius on the 100th anniversary. Vaižgantas was also the first one to think of works with multiple volumes and has presented its prospectus in 1900. Such publication was associated with the prestige of the nation and Lithuanian literature, as well as with the ability to publish the press and was a matter and concern for the whole nation. The article describes the realization of M. Valančius' project to publish works: collection of funds during emigration, the actions regarding the organization of publishing. The results of the publication of Valančius' works were modest: the used budget for the first two volumes was significantly higher than planned, the structure, composition and volume of the original Vaižgantas' works were almost ignored. The history of Valančius' publishing was significant in the development of Lithuanian books and their publication as the first, even though unfinished, attempt to publish the works of an author or their series. The 100th anniversary of Valančius was marked by a noteworthy scholarship and the preparation of his biography. More and more new plans to publish works by other Lithuanian authors were made after writing the project by "Tėvynės sargas". It is possible that the move to publish Valančius' texts has given impulses and helped lead to such plans.
