ENDialogue is one of the most interesting and lively forms of speaking. The most striking peculiarity of dialogical speech is interruption of collocutor's remarks: the rights of a collocutor are trespassed in some cases, and in other cases the aim of the interruption is keeping of contacts or the revision of the topic of the conversation. The remarks of a male and a female in the dialogues of Egons Līvs' novel "Velniakaulio dvyniai" and in the Lithuanian film "Jausmai" created according to the mentioned work are analysed in the article. The analysis of dialogues in the novel and in the film showed that the vicissitude of dialogues varies between the interruption of the remark and the desire to continue the talk in the desirable direction. The collocuters sometimes strive to speak simultaneously, and the later desire is implemented by repeating text segments. The repetition can be "superimposed" on the remark of the partner, forbidding him/her to explain anything, the personal name is repeated, the interruption of the talk by hysterics or laugh and so on. On the other hand, the repetition of the same words or phrases (this phenomenon is more frequent in the film) is often intended to strike up a conversation, id est for a phatic function.Though, more "sharp" dialogues in comparison with the novel could be expected in the film "Jausmai", they are not developed in the film, the sharpness of the talk is emphasized by silence, but not by concrete expressions. The general feature of the dialogues in Egons Līvs' novel and the film is considered to be the interruption of the collocutor, when the partners of different genders talk. The collocutor is interrupted on purpose to dominate or because he/she does not understand the topic of the talk or the partner's question. [From the publication]
