Grandininiai laiškai: iš rankraštinės tradicijos istorijos

LTLietuvių folkloristikoje darbų, pristatančių rankraštinius grandininių laiškų variantus ir jų istoriją, kol kas nėra. Randame tik fragmentiškų pastabų apie konkrečias jų stilistikos, struktūros ypatybes, bandymų šiuos laiškus klasifikuoti. Dėl to straipsnio objektu pasirinkti rankraštiniai ar tipografuoti (ne virtualūs) grandininių laiškų variantai. Prisilaikant ankstesniuose tyrimuose formuotos objekto nomenklatūros, atskirai aptariama kiekvienos laiškų grupės istorija, stengiantis neapeiti istorinio konteksto, siejamo su tam tikrais fenomeno raidos tarpsniais, primenamos tyrinėtojų jau keltos konkrečių tekstų grupių genezės versijos, esant galimybei, pridedama tekstų pavyzdžių. Kaip pačiai seniausiai grupei, galimai davusiai pradžią daugeliui vėlesnių giminaičių, ypač daug dėmesio skiriama dangaus laiškams. Beveik visos laiškų grupės prigijo ir išpopuliarėjo virtualioje erdvėje, todėl manoma, kad toks iš esmės diachroninis žvilgsnis bus svarbus ir internetu plintančių grandininių laiškų tyrimams. ENThe chain-letters are regarded as vivid manifestations of contemporary internet creativity. Yet productive analysis of this phenomenon is inconceivable without good knowledge of the old tradition, which is long-time and rich enough. There is sufficient number of foreign studies written about it, but many of these works deal exclusively with specific issues of this phenomenon’s existence. Many of the sources, published in rare editions or preserved in museums and archives, are difficult to access. In Lithuania, such materials are especially scant, yet according to observation, this phenomenon is of particularly international nature, disinclined to alter even when happening to enter another religious environment. On account of this, the historically formed groups of texts are described in the article, along with looking for the origins of the chain-letters and tracing out tendencies of their development. Special attention is given to the oldest kind of chain-letters, namely, letters from heaven: the available versions of their genesis are introduced, and connections of these letters with various forms of millenarist movement (e.g., the crusades, the flagellant movement) are established, as well as highlighting the interactions between context of definite period and the contents of the texts. The author of the article maintains that subsequent forms of the chain-letters, appearing at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries and later represent smooth process of development, determined by secularization of the phenomenon described above. Therefore luck chainletters, money chains, exchanges and “world record” chain-letters and petitions, as well as parodies of these types of letters are described in some detail in the same article, as well as presenting textual examples from each group and discussing motivation of their dissemination.
