ENAim of thesis is to clear self-assessment features of younger school-age children living in families and at Child Care home. Thе most important tasks are to set self-assessment of younger school-age children living in families and at Child Care home and factors communicating with peers, parents/educators and teachers of families. To clear similarities and differences of selfassessment of pupils living in families and at Child Care home communicating with peers, parents/educators and teachers of families. Scientific literature about characteristic, self-assessment and factors of younger school-age children living in families and at Child Care home is analyzed in the theoretical part. Peculiarities of problems communication, social skills and behavior of children living in Child Care institution arc analyzed too. The method of structure interview (questioning) is used for examination. The questioning was made in two stages. The first questioning was made in November 2011. The second questioning was made in December 2011. Respondents are 30 pupils of X basic school of Jonava city (from 9 until 11 years old) and 30 pupils living at Child Care home of Kaunas and X city (from 9 until U years old). The main conclusions. Analyze of examination results let to set that self-assessment of younger school-age children living in families and at Child Care home is inadequate low. Low self-assessment is conditioned by traumatic events felt in childhood, negative assessment of the people round about, failures at school.Children living in families communicating with peers, parents and teachers assess themselves adequately. Social environment, sense of importance condition it, basements of self-consciousness and positive relations with people are created. It was possible to ascertain during empirical examination that respondents of both groups have got as many friends as other children; however pupils of Child Care home thought they arc not as popular between their peers as children growing in families. They want more to be different than children from families they would have more friends. Children living Child Care home do not feel so important than children growing in families. Analyze of examination results let state than children living at Child Care home feel more barren (useless) at school than those who grow in families. [From the publication]
