Vilniaus miestovaizdis ir nykstantis genius loci
LTStraipsnyje aptariamas Vilniaus miestovaizdis, kultūrinis paveldas ir jo likimas po Nepriklausomybės atkūrimo. Pažymima, kad atkūrus Nepriklausomybę, buvo susirūpinta ir kultūros paveldo, paminklų išsaugojimo, unikalios gamtos ir architektūros dermės sostinės miestovaizdyje likimu, tačiau spontaniškai pasireiškusios tautinio ir socialinio solidarumo energijos, kryptingesnio visuomenės dėmesio kultūros paveldo likimui užteko vos keletui pirmųjų atgautos Nepriklausomybės metų. Konstatuojama, kad trumpam visus apėmusį solidarumą, sutartinai puoselėtus visuomeninius idealus pakeitė primityviausia rinkos ideologija. Autoriaus manymu, tai lėmė ne tiek pragmatiški ekonominės gerovės kūrimo projektai, kiek verslininkų noras kuo greičiau susikrauti kuo stambesnį kapitalą. Atskleidžiama, kad Vilniaus plėtra buvo vykdoma pagal primityvius, kitose Europos šalyse seniai susikompromitavusius modelius. Laukinio kapitalizmo ir statybų magnatų savivalės įsigalėjimui, autoriaus manymu, palanki terpė atsirado dėl visuomenės tylos ir nuolankumo, rodandžių, kad per du Nepriklausomybės dešimtmečius kažkas esminga atsitiko su tautos istorine sąmone. Teigiama, kad nuo to, ar pavyks ją pažadinti ir susieti ne tiek su ekonominiu, kiek su estetiniu interesu, priklausys, kokius buvusio miestovaizdžio elementus dar bus galima išsaugoti. ENThe article discusses the townscape of Vilnius, cultural heritage and its fate after the reinstatement of the Independence. It is noted that after the reinstatement of Independence, there was a concern over the destiny of cultural heritage, the relationship between unique nature and architectural townscape of the capital city. However, this spontaneously manifested energy of national and social solidarity, a more targeted public attention to the destiny of the cultural heritage was enough for only a few of the first years of reinstatement of Independence. It is stated that this short-term solidarity, mutually supported social ideal were replaced by primitive market ideology. According to the author, this was not the result of pragmatic economic welfare projects, but rather the desire of entrepreneurs to get as big a capital as possible. It is revealed that the development of Vilnius was carried out according to primitive models that have long been compromised in other European countries. According to the author, something essential has happened with the nation's historical consciousness and due to the silence and humility of the society, favorable environment for the wild capitalism and the arbitrariness of construction magnate’s selfishness appeared. It is stated, that the preservation of previously existed townscape elements depends not on the economic, but rather aesthetic interest. It is concluded that the social inactivity of the society gives the green light to the widespread economic and moral corruption, and the values of the crisis emerging in the post-communist culture of Lithuania cannot be overcome solely by political solidarity actions.
