Einige Aspekte der Metaphernübersetzung in literarischen Werk

LTStraipsnyje pateikiama P. Süskind romano „Die Taube“ metaforų vertimo į lietuvių kalbą („Balandis“, vertė R. Ivanauskienė)analizė, kurios tikslas – atskleisti ir aptarti pagrindinius metaforų vertimo aspektus, jų raiškos bei vartojimo panašumus ir skirtumus lyginamose kalbose. Tyrimo metu buvo nustatyti 4 pagrindiniai metaforų vertimo būdai, sintaksiniai ir semantiniai metaforų tipai. Po atliktos statistinės analizės paaiškėjo kad 86 % originalo metaforų vertimo kalboje liko išsaugota, t. y. metaforos buvo verčiamos kaip metaforos, net 60 % visų metaforų buvo išversta adekvačiai, t. y. išlaikant visus originalo metaforos gramatinius ir semantinius požymius. Nustatyta, kad adekvačiai visų pirma verčiamos universalios metaforos. Pastebėta, kad dėl kalbinių skirtumų vertimo metu dažniausiai modifikuojama metaforų sintaksinė struktūra. Originalo metafora buvo verčiama kitu metaforiniu vaizdu tik tuo atveju, kai lietuvių kalboje jai nebuvo rastas joks semantinis atitikmuo. Nustatyta, kad kai kurių metaforų netektis yra neišvengiama, nes jos vertimo kalboje neturi jokių metaforinių ekvivalentų. Sunkiausiai išverčiamos arba iš viso neišverčiamos ypač originalios būdvardinės arba daiktavardinės metaforos, kurių supratimui ir prasmės perteikimui didelę reikšmę turi kūrinio kontekstas. Nepaisant to atlikta analizė aiškiai patvirtina H. Weinrich (1976) suformuluotą tezę, kad daugelis metaforų yra universalios, t. y. egzistuoja daugelyje Europos kalbų ir turi tą pačią arba labai panašią vartojimo tradiciją, todėl neišverčiamų metaforų beveik nėra.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Metaforos; Atitikmuo; Ekvivalentiškumas.

ENThe article deals with translation of metaphors into Lithuanian in P. Süsskind’s novel Die Taube (The Pigeon). (The Lithuanian version, translated by R. Ivanauskienė, is called Balandis, which also means The Pigeon.) The purpose of the analysis is to discover and discuss the fundamental principles of metaphor translation, and the similarities and differences in expression and use of metaphors in the languages compared. The study determined 4 basic ways of translating metaphors, and identified syntactic and semantic metaphor types. Statistical analysis showed that 86 % of the metaphors in the original text were transferred to the translation, i.e. the metaphors were translated as metaphors. It was considered that 60 % of all the metaphors were translated adequately, i.e. maintaining all the grammatical and semantic markers of the original metaphor. The observation was made that the best translations of metaphors were those of universal metaphors. Because of language differences, the most common modification made in translation is to the syntactic structure of the metaphor. The metaphors of the original text were translated using a different metaphorical image only when no already existing semantically equivalent metaphor could be found in Lithuanian. It was determined that the loss of a few metaphors was inevitable, as the target language may not have an equivalent metaphor to the one in the source language. The hardest metaphors to translate, or that could not be translated, were those based on adjectives and nouns in the source language that depended heavily on the original context for a correct understanding of their meaning. Nevertheless, the analysis undertaken clearly supports the contention of Harald Weinrich (1976) that most metaphors are universal, i.e. they exist in most European languages and have the same tradition of use or a very similar one; therefore there are very few truly untranslatable metaphors.
