Istorija ir mąstymas tautomis: lietuvių istorinės sąmonės ir atminties būklė

LTTautinės savivokos ugdymas ir istorijos mokymasis yra glaudžiai susiję. Istoriniai pasakojimai, kuriuos šeimoje ar mokykloje, mokydamasis ar pramogaudamas sužino asmuo, gali palaikyti mąstymą tautomis arba, priešingai, ugdyti naujo tipo politinę savivoką. Straipsnyje nagrinėjami 2011 metų rudenį atliktos Lietuvos gyventojų apklausos duomenys, siekiant aprašyti tiek lietuvių istorinę atmintį, t.y. tai, kaip Lietuvos praeitį „atsimena“ tipiškas lietuvis, tiek lietuvių istorinę sąmonę, t. y. tai, kokios yra būdingos orientacijos istorijos atžvilgiu, kaip istorinė informacija atsirenkama ir perimama. Straipsnyje taip pat keliamas klausimas, ar ir kaip skiriasi atskirų kartų istorinė sąmonė ir istorinė atmintis – ar naujos istorijos mokymo programos bei viešosios istorijos versijos pakeitė jaunosios kartos kolektyvinę atmintį? Ar lietuvių istorinė atmintis ir istorinė sąmonė palaiko mąstymą tautomis ir puoselėja ištikimybe grindžiamą santykį su tautine bendruomene? Atlikta analizė rodo, kad nors apskritai istorinė sąmonė yra palanki tautinį tapatumą puoselėjančiam praeities naratyvui, galime fiksuoti ir tam tikrą kaitos tendenciją, kuri išryškėja lyginant skirtingas kartas tarpusavyje. Jaunesniems sunkiau orientuotis praeityje, rasti jiems įdomesnius praeities laikotarpius, praeitį jie dažniau linkę traktuoti ne kaip tautos istoriją, bet kaip skirtingų interesų turinčių individų kūrybos rezultatą ar „objektyvių“ jėgų veikimo padarinį. ENThe development of national self-perception and learning of history are closely related. Historical stories that a person gets to know in the family or at school, during studies or entertainment, might support thinking in terms of nations or, on the contrary, develop a new type of political self-perception. The paper analyses the data of the Lithuanian population survey, conducted in the autumn of 2011, in order to describe both Lithuanian historical memory, i.e. how a typical Lithuanian “recalls” Lithuania’s past, and Lithuanian historical consciousness, i.e. what characteristic orientations with regard to history are and how historical information is selected and absorbed. The paper also asks the following questions: Does and how historical consciousness and historical memory differ among individual generations? Did the new history curricula and public history versions change the collective memory of the young generation? Does Lithuanian historical memory and historical consciousness support thinking in terms of nations and nurture the relationship with national community, based on loyalty? The analysis shows that although generally historical consciousness is favourable for the narrative of the past that cherishes national identity, a certain tendency of shift could be observed, which becomes evident when comparing different generations with one another. Younger generations find it more difficult to orientate in the past, find more interesting past periods; they tend to treat the past not as the history of the nation, but as the result of creation of individuals with different interests or the outcome of the acting of “objective” powers. These tendencies reflect the conclusions that are drawn while analysing the changes of teaching history at school.
