LTSiekiant tobulinti vidurinės mokyklos matematikos mokytojų rengimą, tikslinga atlikti dabartinės matematikos mokytojų rengimo situacijos analizę, studentų profesinių kompetencijų ugdymo(si) teorinių studijų ir pedagoginės praktikos metu aspektais. Remiantis konstruktyvistine ugdymo paradigma, kuri suponuoja besimokančiojo profesinės patirties formavimosi veiksmingumą, jam naujose situacijose pritaikant anksčiau įgytą patirtį, straipsnyje analizuojamas kai kurių funkcinių pedagoginių kompetencijų tobulinimas pedagoginės praktikos metu. Atliekant tyrimą buvo keliamas tikslas išryškinti būsimų matematikos mokytojų profesinio pasirengimo raidos ypatybes, jiems tobulinant minėtas profesines kompetencijas baigiamajame teorinių studijų etape ir pedagoginės praktikos metu. Tyrimo rezultatai atskleidė, kad absolventų apsisprendimą dirbti matematikos mokytojo darbą labiausiai lemia patirtis, įgyjama pedagoginės praktikos metu, kai studentai įsitikina turį pakankamą teorinį dalykinį ir metodinį pasirengimą. ENIn order to improve the training of secondary school mathematics teachers, it is appropriate to analyze the current situation in mathematics teacher education. The paper analyzes the improvement of students’ pedagogical competencies through theoretical studies and teaching practice. Training students’ ability to develop mathematics teaching methodology, which comply with the current understanding of the educational process, it is necessary to give due attention to the functional competencies – planning and development of course content, learning process management. The article analyzes the differences (prior to teaching practice and get it done) in students’ attitudes on the work in the school. The objective of the investigation was to highlight the features of the development of students’ pedagogical competencies which they are improving in the final stage of theoretical studies and teaching experience during practice at school.The investigation revealed that: almost three-quarters of students said after practice teaching intend to choose teaching careers; a quarter of all students, which have been negatyve to the teacher profession prior the practice, decided to choose a teaching career when get practice done; teaching practice helped students to make sure of the eligibility of their subject knowledge; the studies of mathematics didactics and teaching practice effectively helped students develop their competencies of lesson planning and teaching process management; the experience gained during the teaching practice, when the students are satisfied with sufficient theoretical and methodological preparation, determinated students’ choosing of teaching career largely. The study also revealed some opportunities of the development of pedagogical education: it is worth to enhance studies coupled with a high school math subjects taught; it should be strengthen practical studies of pedagogy, psychology and mathematics didactics; as many students notes, the overmuch requirements of reporting consuming too much time and does not focus on the immediate practical work in school, does not allow for creativity to prepare lessons, so lecturers of pedagogy, psychology, health education and mathematics didactics should be consider on the optimal number of tasks; save time allotted reporting for all departments, can help the requesting of reports into a single folder.
