Bajorų identifikavimo problemos sprendimas remiantis Juozapų ir Simonų Zabielų pavyzdžiu

LTAsmens identifikavimas, nustatant jo/ jos vietą giminystės chronologinėje sekoje ir tarp vienalaikių jos narių, analizuojant politinę karjerą bei kitus biografinius faktus, yra vienas pagrindinių genealoginių tyrimų uždavinių, norint išskirti bei individualizuoti asmenį. Tai tampa ypač sudėtinga, kai yra keli asmenys ta pačia pavarde, tokiu pat vardu, o dažnai ir einantys tokias pačias pareigas. Problemos dėl identiškų vardų yra būdingos laikotarpiui iki Abiejų Tautų Respublikos žlugimo, kai buvo stengiamasi pareigybes ir titulus išlaikyti vienoje giminėje. Netgi palyginti gerai šaltiniais paremti duomenys apie XVIII a. bajorijos atstovus gali sukelti sunkumų atskiriant giminaičius. Su šiais sunkumais taip pat susiduriame tyrinėdami Zabielų giminės istoriją. Straipsnyje norima atkreipti dėmesį į dviejų Simonų bei dviejų Juozapų Zabielų, gyvenusių XVIII a. ir priklausiusių giminei, apie kurią istorikams daug žinoma, identifikavimo problemą. Remiantis Juozapų ir Simonų Zabielų pavyzdžiu, ieškoma būdų, kaip įmanoma įveikti minėtus bajorų identifikavimo sunkumus. Apibendrinant galima teigti, kad dažnos iki šiol Zabielų giminės atstovus tyrinėjusių istorikų klaidos pasitaikydavo dėl to, kad jie neatliko išsamių tyrimų. Plačiausios šaltinių bazės apie šiuos asmenis analizė išsprendžia atskirų biografinių faktų priskyrimo problemą. ENPerson‘s identification is one of the key tasks of genealogical research in order to distinguish and individualize a person, to determine his/ her place in their family‘s chronological sequence and among their contemporaneous members, to analyze political career and other biographical facts. It becomes particularly complicated when there are several individuals with the same name, same last name, and often occupying the same positions. The problems regarding identical names are common to a period before the collapse of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, when it was striven to keep positions and titles in a family. Even well supported data about representatives of nobility of the 18th century can cause difficulties in distinguishing relatives. We also face these challenges researching history of Zabiela family. The article intends to draw attention to identification problem of two Simonai and two Juozapai Zabielos, who lived in the 18th century and who belonged to the family well known to historians. Based on the example of Juozapai and Simonai Zabielos, we search for ways to overcome above-mentioned difficulties of nobility‘s identification. To summarize, so far historians, who have researched representatives of Zabiela family, made mistakes because they did not carry out a comprehensive research. Analysis of the largest database of the sources about these individuals resolves the problem of attribution of separate biographical facts. Such type of analysis is important not only for genealogical research, but also it helps to avoid mistakes in the analysis of historical individuals in the whole Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
