Masonerijos kuluaruose : ieškant Vilniaus klausimo sprendimo

LTŠio straipsnio tema iš pirmo žvilgsnio gali atrodyti gana netikėta, turint galvoje akivaizdžiai politinį jos angažuotumą, tarsi nustelbiantį masonams būdingą humanistinių vertybių klausimą. Be abejo, humanizmas buvo, yra ir liks centrinis dalykas apibūdinant masoneriją kaip reiškinį. Tačiau kai kalbame apie masonų veiklos formas įvairiu laiku ir įvairiuose kraštuose, jis dažnai atsiduria antrame plane, užleisdamas pirmenybę politiniam kontekstui. Šiuo požiūriu nesiskiria iš kitų ir Lietuvos masonerija. Šiame straipsnyje nagrinėjama Lietuvos masonerijos struktūra XX a. pr. bei jos įtaka Vidurio Lietuvos problemos, atsiradusius atkūrus moderniąsias Lietuvos ir Lenkijos valstybes, sprendimui. Lietuvos masonerija, atnaujinusi savo veiklą jau nepriklausomoje Lietuvoje, susitelkė „Vidurio Lietuvos“ problemai spręsti, bet nepasiekė pozityvių rezultatų. Dėl tokios gana vienpusės ir politiškai angažuotos veiklos nukentėjo pati masonų organizacija. „Lietuvos“ ložėje nesiliovė ginčai tarp bendrųjų humanistinių idėjų propagandos ir politinio veikimo šalininkų. Vyraujant pastariesiems, ložės veikla tebebuvo slapta. Tai trukdė „Lietuvą“ įregistruoti Tarptautinio Masonų Susivienijimo (Association Maçonnique Internationale) organizacijoje, kuri būtų išviešinusi tam tikru lygmeniu ložei priklausančius asmenis. „Lietuvos Didieji Rytai“ dėl savo veiklos pobūdžio liko izoliuoti tarptautiniame masonerijos kontekste iki pat Antrojo pasaulinio karo. ENThe topic of the paper might seem unexpected at first glance with regard to its evidently political engagement which as if suppresses the issue of humanistic values characteristic of masons. Certainly, humanism has been and will remain a central issue when describing masonry as a phenomenon. However, when we speak about the forms of activity of masons at different time in different places, it is often in the background, giving way to the political context. Lithuanian Masonry does not differ from others in this respect. The paper analyses the structure of Lithuanian Masonry at the beginning of the 20th c. and its influence for the solution of the problem of Central Lithuania, which occurred after modern states of Lithuania and Poland were re-established. Lithuanian Masonry renewed its activities in independent Lithuania and focused on the solution of the problem of Central Lithuania; however, it failed to achieve positive results. Due to this rather one-sided and politically engaged activity the mason organisation suffered itself. Disputes did not settle down in the Lithuanian lodge among the advocates of common humanistic idea propaganda and political action. The latter prevailed, thus the activities of the lodge were secret. This prevented Lithuania from being registered in the organisation of the International Masonry Association (Association Maçonnique Internationale), because it would have made persons belonging to the lodge public. The Lithuanian Grand Eastern Lodge remained isolated due to the nature of its activities in the international context of Masonry until World War II. Therefore, the activities of Lithuanian masons were not significant in the domestic life of interwar Lithuania.
