LT„Lietuvių liaudies dainyno" 23 tomas - 7-oji vestuvinių dainų knyga. Joje skelbiamos išvažiavimo pas jaunąjį dainos, vienijamos tematinio turinio: apdainuojančios jaunosios atsisveikinimą su namiškiais ir persikėlimą pas jaunąjį. Dainos leidinyje išdėstytos pagal Lietuvių liaudies dainų katalogo Vestuvinių dainų skyriaus kartoteką ir spausdintą katalogą. Minėtas skyrius buvo papildytas 1985-2002 metų archyviniais vestuvinių išvažiavimo pas jaunąjį dainų variantais iš Lietuvių literatūros ir tautosakos instituto Lietuvių tautosakos rankraštyno, kurio medžiaga ir sudaro didžiąją skelbiamų dainų dalį. Nors, atrenkant publikavimui dainas, ypač tipus ar versijas reprezentuojančius tekstus, pirmenybė teikta rankraštiniams, dar neskelbtiems kūriniams, tačiau nemažai pateikiama ir spausdintų variantų, ypač iš XIX a. leidinių, tapusių biblio-grafinėmis retenybėmis. Tomas parengtas laikantis bendrųjų „Lietuvių liaudies dainyno" serijos leidinių rengimo principų. Dainų tekstai ir jų komentarai publikuojami autentiški, atspindint visus tarminius, fonetinius, morfologinius įvairavimus. Tome publikuojamos 365 dainos, iš jų 249 - su melodijomis. Šioje knygoje skelbiamų išvažiavimo pas jaunąjį dainų repertuarą sudaro 95 tipai, turintys ~ 6400 variantų, iš kurių - 2000 - su melodijomis. Tomo pabaigoje dedamos abėcėlinės rodyklės: dainų geografinė (sudaryta pagal dabartinį administracinį suskirstymą), dainų pateikėjų, dainų tekstų užrašytoje dainų melodijų užrašytojų bei šifruotojų, rinkinių sudarytojų, dainų pavadinimų.

ENThe 23nd volume of the “Book of Lithuanian Folk Songs” is dedicated to wedding songs. This is the seventh such book of this genre. In it are compiled songs about the bride leaving home to go live with the groom; some of these songs are also included in the sixth book of the wedding song series. This book brings the wedding songs performed by the bride's side of the family to a close. The wedding rituals that take place in the home of the bride begin with the “mergvakaris“ customs (an all girls' party at the bride's on the eve of the wedding-day) and end with the bride being sent off to join the husband's family. Songs about leaving for the husband's home, which accompanied the bride as she bid farewell to her family, fit the wedding scenario for their motifs rather than for any reflection of ritual that may be detected in them. Often annotations to some songs indicate that songs closely tied to the farewell-taking situation, which describe the departure for the groom's home, were also sung when seeing off the young couple to their nuptials. The material in this volume has been sub-divided into six thematic chapters: "The steeds are already harnessed"; "Farewell mother, father, and all the family"; "The daughter will not return despite her dear mother's request"; "Is that a cuckoo's call, or dear mother's words?"; "The boy's place is bad for the maiden"; "Brothers see their sister off, promising to visit.".In total, there are 365 songs in this volume, 281 of which include scores of the melodies. Below are the annotations of all the types of songs represented in this volume (a type is considered to be the entirety of a song's variations). The annotation of each song type has been written according to the first variation of that song type. The numbers at the beginning of the annotation refer to the sequence number of the songs, and following that is the title of the type. In parentheses are given the song type index number according to the Lithuanian folk song catalog as well as the overall number of variations.
