ENThe article analysis relations between the host country and multinational corporations (MC) through the prism of the Government role in market economy as well as portfolio and foreign direct investments without focusing specifically on the description of adjustment mechanism of all-round interests. The article discloses the nature and specificity of activity of MCs in the origin and host countries. The assumption is made that conflict of interest is manifested least of all in the countries of equal level of development. The article raises the following questions: can the national governments influence economy-related decisions made by multinational corporation without an essential harm to the MCs interests? How to ensure compatibility of national and MCs interests, given the global scale of MCs interests? Besides, the analysis of relations between the state and MCs is based on the principle that the prime goal of the state is to protect the nation and provide conditions for its self-expression. It is obvious that, MCs, basing their activity on the global development strategy and striving for the highest rate of return on investment, disregard, in most cases, the national interests of one or another state. The article presents the essential position of the host country authorities in negotiations and subsequently in cooperation with MCs. [From the publication]
