Akademinės pastoracijos gairės universiteto bendruomenėje

LTStraipsnyje aptariami akademinės sielovados tikslai, uždaviniai ir gairės universitetinėje bendruomenėje. Dievas ir žmogus, tikėjimas ir protas, mokslas ir religija nėra nesuderinami veiksniai ugdant žmogų. Parodoma, kad pirmieji Europos universitetai turėjo teologines studijas ir ilgus šimtmečius rūpinosi studentų dvasiniu ugdymu. Teologija senuosiuose universitetuose buvo vienas svarbiausių mokslų, žymiausi profesoriai – teologai, taigi ir universitetinė sielovada buvo viena sudedamųjų akademinio gyvenimo dalių. Visais amžiais Bažnyčia rūpinosi universitetais ir šiandien ragina prisiminti jų krikščioniškąsias ištakas, ugdyti krikščioniškąsias bei bendražmogiškąsias vertybes. ENThe article examines the aims and methods of pastoral care in the university community. I points out that there is no necessity for the entities of God and man, faith and reason, religion and science to be mutually exclusive of one another in the endeavour of integral human formation. It demonstrates historically that the very first established universities of Europe included the study of theology and for many centuries included the spiritual formation of its students' as one of its primary tasks. Theology was not only dominant in the first universities as a subject of enquiry but many of their professors were also theologians. Pastoral care was part and parcel of the university academic life. Throughout the ages the Church has taken an interest in the pastoral care of universities. So it is that the Church today, mindful of its past concern as well as its obligations as regards the future, exhorts Christian and human values in the University forum as much as possible. The article presents practical ways of fulfilling the pastoral care of academic communities, detailing especially the role of the chaplain and the importance of a chapel on the university campus. New methods of evangelization as well as of encounter with culture issues are discussed in this article about the Church's mission in the field of the university. [From the publication]
