ENThe article, written in the form of dialogue, analyses feminist strategies implemented in the contemporary art projects and museum exhibitions in Lithuania and foreign counties. The authors discuss critical strategies employed by the artists and compare these strategies to the feminist ones. The emphasis is laid on the geographical and cultural diversity of contemporary feminist art practices. The authors discuss the alternatives to the canonical construction of art history and influence of feminist interventions to the development of contemporary art. The feminist analysis and criticism not only challenge patriarchal tradition in arts and promote equal participation of men and women in the art processes, but also reflect the contemporary state of feminisminformed thinking, writing about art, its production and dissemination. Other places that generate discussion: museum collection, exposition, art project complement reviving feminist theory by the new forms of non-linear narrative, polyphonic speaking, creating knowledge that rejects norms and canons. Dialogue is one of the strategies inspired by the feminist theories and critical practices of contemporary art, curating and art criticism. In theory it refers to other tendencies of critical thinking, and in curatorial practice it inspires interventions to the existing institutional and narrative structures. These are the challenges of todays Lithuanian feminist thought and practice of arts field. This article is written in a form of dialogue instead of authoritative monologue, speaking about practices of feminist curating a complemental constructing method is epitomized. Contradiction and doubt become important methodological tools that simultaneously help to develop the subversive thinking in several directions.Such way of speaking allows to juxtapose not always coinciding feminist strategies that function in different contexts (theory, museum and in practices of curating contemporary art, also in Lithuania and other countries), also to trace the sources that unite them, and the singularity of a particular context. Therefore not only theory is in a dialog with practice but also various practical forms of activity are elaborated in different locations. For example, exhibitions or museum projects start a dialogue, which refreshes and expands conceptions of feminist art and feminist projects. [From the publication]
