LTKnygoje publikuojami 9 žinomo lenkų istoriko ir kartografo Stanislovo Aleksandrovičiaus (Stanisław Alexandrowicz) straipsniai, paskelbti įvairiuose leidiniuose 1961-2004 m. Įvadiniame straipsnyje apžvelgiama S. Aleksandrovičiaus mokslinė biografija bei nuopelnai lenkų istoriografijai. Publikuojamuose darbuose analizuojama Baltarusijos ir Lietuvos miestelių tinklo susiformavimas ir raida iki XVII a. vidurio. Pateikiamas miestelių sąrašas, jie lokalizuojami, nurodomi jų įsteigimo metai, savininkai. Lyginant su urbanizacijos procesais Lietuvos Didžiojoje Kunigaikštystėje, tiriama Palenkės miestelių tinklo susidarymas. Analizuojama Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos miestelių apgyvendinimo XVI ir XVII a. pirmoje pusėje raida, gyventojų skaičiaus dinamika, užimtumas, socialinė struktūra, ypač daug dėmesio skiriama vidaus bei užsienio prekybos, amatų ir pramonės vystymuisi, miestelių tinklo ūkiniams, teisiniams ir etniniams ypatumams. Tiriama Baltarusijos miestų ir miestelių augimo įtaka XVI-XVII a. regione vykusiai kultūrinei ir kalbinei polonizacijai. Atskiri darbai skirti žydų etninės grupės istorijai Lietuvos ir Baltarusijos žemėse XVI-XIX a., Losicės miesto (Łosice, rytų Lenkijoje) praeičiai XIII-XVIII a. ENThe book presents nine articles of the famous Polish historian and cartographer Stanisław Alexandrowicz, published in various publications in 1961–2004. The introductory article overviews the scientific biography of Alexandrowicz and his merits to Polish historiography. The book analyses the formation and development of the network of Belarusian and Lithuanian towns until the mid-17th c. It presents the list of towns, their location, the years of founding, and owners. The formation of the network of towns in the Podlasie region is investigated through comparison with urbanisation processes in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The book analyses the development of populating Lithuanian and Belarusian towns in the 16th c. and the first half of the 17th c., the dynamics of population, their employment, social structure, and particularly the development of domestic and foreign trade, crafts and industry, as well as the economic, legal and ethnic peculiarities of the network of towns. It investigates the influence of the growth of Belarusian cities and towns on the cultural and linguistic Polonisation that was present in the region in the 16th–17th c. Separate papers focus on the history of the Jewish ethnic group in Lithuanian and Belarusian territories in the 16th–19th c., and the past of the town of Łosice (Eastern Poland) in the 13th–18th c. The book also contains appendixes illustrating the development of the town of Łosice, as well as Magdeburg right privileges granted to the town of Lubecz at the River Nemunas in the 17th c. and the inventory of this town in 1651.
