ENThe aim of presenting word samples from the anonymous manuscript Lithuanian-Polish dictionary of 1820 (AŽ) is to draw the attention of specialists in history and etymology to several words that have been registered exclusively in the given dictionary, and which apparently can supplement or change the former etymological hypotheses and interpretations. Several dozens of unique Lithuanian words of clear formation and unknown meaning (no Polish equivalents are provided) should be important for the history of the language. Additions, remarks and commentaries found at the entries of the AŽ and on blank pages of the dictionary, which have so far been considered anonymous, are worthy of a separate research. As has turned out, they were written by the famous Sūduvian public figure Petras Kriaučiūnas, who was compiling an explanatory dictionary and probably planned to use the data from the AŽ.
