ENIn Proto-Indo-European adjectives with the suffix *-no- were formed not only from verbs (cf. Lith. pilnas, latv. pilns, OPruss. acc. sing, pilnan (gantze) III 96, Slav. *рьlnь / ръlnъ, Germ. *fulna-, Olr. lan, Skr. pūrņa- 'full') but also from nouns, cf. Lith. dešinas, Slav. *desnъ, Skr. daksiņa- 'right, right-hand' (: *dek'si- 'to the right'), Lith. pernai 'last year', Latv. pęrns, Germ. *ferna- 'last years' (: *per 'through'). On the other hand, in the Baltic and in the other Indo-European languages the old tendency to use the pure suffix *-no- only in the formation of adjectives from verbs has been observed. There are only some exceptions of this mil in Lithuanian, cf. vasarnas 'warmisch' (: vasara 'summer'). [text from author]
