Lietuvos europinio identiteto problema XIII amžiuje

LTEuropinį XIII a. Lietuvos karalystės tapatumą lengviausiai galima suprasti apie jos atitrūkimą nuo šio tapatumo. Šis atitrūkimas pirmiausia išplaukė iš feodalinės Lietuvos žurnalistinei humanistikai priskirtinos naratyvistikos, kurios fantastinių valdovų plejadoje iki realių XIV a. įvykių Mindaugas ir jo laikų įvykiai net nebuvo minimi. XIX a. Lietuvoje dar nesusiformavo istorijos mokslas ir kaimyninių šalių moksle jos XIII a. istorija tapo marginaliniu epizodu. Tik nuo XIX-XX a. sandūros atsirado specialiai XIII a. Lietuvai skirtos studijos, bet tik XX a. 4-ąjį dešimtmetį pasirodė europiniam Lietuvos identitetui skirti H.Łowmiańskio ir ypač J.Stakausko darbai. Nepaisant labai nepalankaus Lietuvos istorinio vaidmens nušvietimui XX a. 2-osios pusės aneksijos laikotarpio, buvo pripažintas jos priklausymas rytiniam Vidurio Europos istoriniam regionui svarbiuose H.Samsonowicziaus ir L.Szücso darbuose. Jie parodė tai lemiančius istorinius dėsningumus ir Lietuvos vėlavimą tokiems procesams vykstant. ENThe European identity of the Kingdom of Lithuania of the 13th century can be most easily comprehended in terms of the gap to its identity, which, first and foremost, resulted from the narrativistics, attributed to the journalistic humanistics of the feudalistic Lithuania, in the galaxy of fantastic rulers of which, till the real events of the 14th century, Mindaugas and the events of his times were not even mentioned. In the 19th century the science of history was not formed in Lithuania yet and in the science of the neighbouring countries the history of Lithuania of the 13th century was a marginal episode. Only at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century the studies, specially dedicated to the 13th century Lithuania came into existence and only in the thirties of the 20th century the works by H. Łowmiański and especially J. Stakauskas, dedicated to the European identity of Lithuania, were published. Notwithstanding the time period of annexation of the first half of the 20th century, which was especially unfavourable for elucidation of the historical role of Lithuania, its belonging to the Eastern historical region of the Middle Europe was recognized in the important studies by H. Samsonowicz and L. Szücs, who showed the historical regularities, which determined the said aspects and also the delays of Lithuania within the processes.
