LTKaimo turizmas - kaimo vietovių žemių verslas. Kaimo gyventojai gali ne tik pardavinėti savo ūkio produktus, bet ir papildyti pajamas, kartu sėkmingai integruotis į dabartinę konkurencinę visuomenę. Lietuvos kaimo gyventojų užimtumas - viena opiausių problemų. Kaimo turizmas Lietuvoje, taip pat ir Dzūkijos regione yra tik papildoma veiklos sritis, leidžianti padidinti ūkininkų pajamas 30 - 40%, sukurti papildomų darbo vietų. Dzūkijoje yra palankios rekreacinės sąlygos, leidžiančios plėtoti kaimo turizmo verslą. Straipsnyje įvertinta kaimo turizmo paslaugų būklė Dzūkijoje ir identifikuoti vartotojų poreikiai, įvertinti palankūs ir neigiami kaimo turizmo plėtros veiksniai. Objektyviai įvertinti neigiami veiksniai, ieškoma priemonių jiems eliminuoti ar bent sumažinti jų neigiamą poveikį. Šiuo tikslu atlikta SWOT analizė. ENOne of the most complicated problems in Lithuania is the unemployment of rural population. The situation is especially unfavourable in infertile soil regions. Dzūkija belongs to those regions, which don't possess rich soils but have suitable recreation environment for nature lovers. Thus, rural tourism development might be as one of the opportunities for solving unemployment there, because tourism development improves technical infrastructure as well as social life of local population. Thus, above mentioned facts encouraged to investigate rural tourism development in Dzūkija. The work aim is to analyse and evaluate the quality of rural tourism services in Dzūkija foreseeing the main tendencies and assumptions of this development. The main objectives are as follows: determining the most influential factors of rural tourism; selecting methodology as well as methods and techniques to be used; performing SWOT analyses of rural tourism services as well as the main development tendencies. The main source of information about rural development services was data questionnaires given to farmstead owners and holiday makers in the summer of 2000 as well as information obtained from the catalogues "Holidays in the Countryside" published by Lithuanian Rural Tourism Association. The reliability of data difference was assessed using the X2 and Cramer's V coefficient. The article provides an estimation of the level of farmstead customer service in Dzūkija, analysis of service suppliers and consumers, identification of customers' needs, evaluation of positive and negative factors of rural tourism expansion. [From the publication]The following conclusions are drawn: Minimal comfort farmstead with mixed feeding satisfies customers' needs best. Service suppliers face two the most important problems: service quality and diversity. Actually there is a big shortage of active sports and winter entertainment. The specialization of tourism objects according to specific needs of customers is poorly developed in Lithuania as well. The quality of rural tourism customer service is based on the characteristics of suppliers' activity and the assessement of price nad quality intercourse. Incovenient drive up to a farmstead, untidy surroundings, imperfect information system, poor choise of service are the factors having negative influence on customer service quality in Dzūkija. In developing rural tourism in the region of Dzūkija it is important to perfect information system and advertisement, to make good use of SAPARD financial help for the expansion of rural tourism, to induce ecological tourism, to broaden the choise of service and to improve its quality. The foundation of rural tourism co-operative community is one of the most effective means to solve its financial and organizational problems. A special attention should be attracted to preparing qualified tourism specialists, and organizing intensive courses, seminars and trainings for them. [From the publication]
