Educational change and its impact on teacher's pedagogical vocation

LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjamas mokymo pokyčių kontekstas, jį pateikiant kaip konfliktą tarp mokytojo profesinio darbo subjektyvios pusės (profesinės savimonės, pedagoginio pašaukimo) ir švietimo sferoje besiformuojančios socialinės rinkos perspektyvos. Daug dėmesio skiriama profesionalizmo esmės nagrinėjimui siekiant parodyti pašaukimą kaip profesijos dimensiją. Taip pat pristatoma pedagoginio pašaukimo koncepcija ir aprašomi mokytojų, turinčių pedagoginį pašaukimą, ypatumai. Remiantis mokymo praktikos pavyzdžiais, keliama prielaida, kad mokyklų atvėrimas darbo rinkai ir ryšių su verslininkais skatinimas visuose švietimo lygiuose sumenkina ir susiaurina mokytojų profesinio pašaukimo išraišką. ENThe focus of the article is the context of educational change which is portrayed as a conflict between teachers’ subjective side of professional work (professional consciousness, pedagogical vocation) and the emerging of social market perspective in education. The article dwells on the essence of professionalism with an intention to show vocation as a dimension of a profession. Also the concept of pedagogical vocation and the peculiarities of teachers having pedagogical vocation are presented. Drawing on the examples of educational reality, it is suggested that opening schools towards labour market and encouraging entrepreneurship on all levels of education are undermining and narrowing the expression of teachers’ pedagogical vocation.
