ENArticle summarises analysis carried out to address the problem of explication of the technology concept in the system of comprehensive school. We face a problem of ambiguity of the technology concept that determines a certain training strategy. Educational erpretations prevailing in reality of technological education are based on a certain aspect of technology expression as a phenomenon of reality and oriented to formation of relevant skills and relations. The latter are unacceptable in order to provide general technological intelligence. The existing system of technologic education of schoolchildren is oriented to the sphere of material production. A concept of technology as entirety of industrial processes, methods and measures of performance is jug-handled, narrow and unacceptable for the modern system of comprehensive education. The notion of the concept itself must be expanded and made more general in the aspect of reformative activities. Technology in the system of comprehensive education should be understood as a universal form of tangible reality. Such understanding of reality should be linked with a specific technological form of public consciousness that is expressed as technological culture. [From the publication]
