LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjamos šiuolaikinės rengimo karjerai politikos prielaidos: atskleidžiami nauji politikos sampratos aspektai, aptariamas sisteminis rengimo karjerai, pobūdis, ji nagrinėjama kaip integrali valstybės socialinę ir ekonominę raidą jtakojanti bendrosios politikos dalis. Akcentuojama rengimo karjerai politikos ir strategijos reikšmė visų amžiaus tarpsnių, socialinės kilmės, lyties ir pan. žmonių socialinei integracijai bei darbo rinkos sistemos funkcionavimo optimizavimui. ENCareers guidance became a phenomenon of national and international significance at the end of the XX century. Development of careers services based on different theoretical and political approaches, aims and methods rises growing needs in effective organization and coordination. General policy formation concerning main dimensions of theoretical and practical activities becomes more and more important but it remains poorly studied in the world up to now. It depends on the complexity of reaching harmony between the world of work and the system of education, between the general social policy on the one side and the policy of job market, education and vocational education and training and the other. Some contemporary challenges for careers guidance policy formation are studied in the article: the changes taking place in the career concept and it's models at the end of the XX century, the growing importance of the systematic approach in the modern careers guidance theory and practice, policy of the careers guidance is analyzed as an integral part of the main strategy of a state. The conclusions at the end of the article emphasizes growing role of the careers guidance policy as an effective mean in job market formation and human resources development. Ongoing processes of making preparations for joining EU stimulates Lithuanian scholars and politicians to study foreign careers guidance systems and experiences and to initiate making of the national careers guidance policy.
