Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje, remiantis Rėdos rato filosofija, analizuojama kultūrinio paveldo, kaip tautos išlikimo garanto, situacija globalizacijos, visuotinio susvetimėjimo sąlygomis. Tautos branduolys – tai bendruomenė: papročių, doroviškai priimtinų elgesio normų, bendrabūvio taisyklių sergėtoja. Į tą bendruomenę švenčių metu integruojamas jaunas žmogus. Užgavėnių šventė – vienas iš būdų sutvirtinti moralinius bendruomenės pamatus, atlikti savotišką pilietinę reviziją. Empiriniame tyrime atvejo analizės metodu siekiama parodyti, kokių vertybinių nuostatų įgyja jaunas žmogus, aktyviai dalyvaudamas bendruomenės šventėse, perimdamas savo regiono kultūrinį paveldą, ugdydamasis pilietiškumą. EN[…] Currently, due to migration, interrelationships between countries and their interdependence have been increasingly growing. The world became cognizable and accessible, and that resulted in the formation of a cosmopolitan way of thinking, globalized human needs, and the start of levelling out the cultural differences between nations (one's own vs. other). In the discourse of the civic education, the education of a personality means that a person is growing, educating himself, and creating under the impact of all fields of life. Passing from one stage of his age to the next one, an individual changes. A question arises what circumstances make an impact on the change of the personality: cognition, integration into society, participation and adaptation to it, or the retaining of the identity or its change. Therefore, the article raises problematic questions: how could a young person get interested in the national heritage? How can he be helped to get to know genuine national values? How can a community help him develop civic self-consciousness? The aim of the research is to reveal the significance of civic education in the society by involving a young person in the activities of ethnic culture, retaining the national heritage, and forming spiritual values. With that goal in mind, the essential characteristics of the "Rėdos ratas" philosophy are brought out, the impact of the community on the formation of moral outlook is reviewed, and the opportunities for a young person to develop civic self-consciousness by active participation in community festivals (the Shrovetide) is sought to disclose. Each nation needs its own aristocracy – spiritually rich people. For ages, Lithuanian's moral world outlook was destroyed and mutilated by oppression and different bans. The philosophy of "Rėdos ratas" should occupy an appropriate place in education, as it represents a national mental measure of dignity, one's own value, and human creative power. The moral identity is the cornerstone of the civil society. In that context, public spirit is perceived as an individual's becoming a mature, i.e. responsible, member of the community (the state). For an individual, identity is what creates close relationships. Family and community represent the values of a civic society. A young man left for self-education may form non-civic priorities. However, he may be effected by the authority of the community leader, creatively integrated moral education, and the forging of communal relationships in the community. The awakening of the community feeling reduces an individual’s feeling of exclusion (safety) and develops the confidence in one's own powers and independence. On the basis of a case study and the interpretation of activity examination, one can state that an ethnically active community which reflects on the public spirit via the cultural heritage typical of the region has an impact on the formation of a young individual's national and civic self-consciousness. Participation in community meetings (festivals) encourages creativity and trains individual abilities. The emotional and associative fields of the Shrovetide as a community festival are powerful enough to make an impact on the appearance of a need, habit, and motivation. As human habits change slower than historical circumstances, the education of the civic spirit may be supported by the habits of the community (the native region). [From the publication]
