Kauno miesto gatvių infrastruktūros plėtra XX a. 3–4 dešimtmečiais

LT1918–1940 m. laikotarpiu Kaunas buvo laikinoji Lietuvos valstybės sostinė. Miestas modernėjo, pradėjo tapti miestu, kuris pagal kriterijus atitiko nedidelės valstybės sostinės lygį. Dauguma Kauno miesto to laikotarpio urbanistikos objektų yra tyrinėjami. Straipsnyje atkreipiamas dėmesys, kad Kauno miesto gatvės, jų pokyčiai iki šiol nėra išsamiau nagrinėti. Autorius kelia sau tikslą išanalizuoti Kauno miesto infrastruktūros plėtotę, vykusią XX a. 3 – 4 dešimtmečiais. Siekiant šio tikslo svarbu išnagrinėti buvusias Kauno miesto urbanistikos vystymosi sąlygas, kurios įtakojo miesto gatvių infrastruktūros plėtotę. Taip pat norima išsiaiškinti, kokios tvarkos buvo laikomasi, grindžiant Kauno miesto gatves ir įrengiant šaligatvius. Svarbu sužinoti apie pagrindinius XX a. 3-4 dešimtmečio pasiekimus Kauno miesto gatvių infrastruktūroje. Paaiškinama, kad šiuo atveju ,,gatvių infrastruktūra“ reiškia naujų miesto gatvių tiesimą, tvarkymą, remontą ir kt. Straipsnyje nurodomi autoriai, kurių darbuose nors fragmentiškai buvo aptarta nagrinėjama tema. Autorius teigia, kad XX a. 3 dešimtmečio pradžioje Kauno miesto gatvės nebuvo tinkamai sutvarkytos, todėl jų infrastruktūros kūrimas buvo ilgalaikis procesas. Tam buvo reikalingos nemažos investicijos. Pastebima, kad iki 1927 m. namų savininkai patys turėjo prižiūrėti miesto gatves. Vėliau gatvių grindimą perėmė savivaldybė, o Pirmosios Lietuvos Respublikos laikotarpiu namų valdų savininkai klojo ir remontavo šaligatvius. ENIn 1918–1940, Kaunas was a temporary capital of Lithuania. The town was modernised and started becoming a town which corresponded to the criteria of the capital of a little state. At that time, many urban objects of Kaunas were analysed. The article pays attention that Kaunas streets and their changes were still not analysed in more detail. The author aims to make an analysis of the development of Kaunas infrastructure which took place in the 3rd–4th decade of the 20th c. In order to reach the aim, it is important to make an analysis of the former development conditions of urbanism in Kaunas that had influence to the development of the infrastructure of streets. Also, it is intended to reveal the order which was followed when paving Kaunas streets and making pavements. It is important to be familiar with the main achievements of street infrastructure in Kaunas in the 3rd–4th decade of the 20th c. It is explained that in this case “street infrastructure” means the paving, management, repair and etc. of new streets of the town. The article indicated authors who at least fragmentary discussed the analysed topic in their works. The author states that at the beginning of the 3rd decade of the 20th c., the streets of Kaunas were not properly managed, therefore the creation of their infrastructure was a long-term process. Quite big investment was needed for it. It was noticed that until 1927 owners of houses had to take care of streets by themselves. Later, the paving of streets was taken by municipalities and during the period of the First Republic of Lithuania the owners of premises were responsible for the installation and repair of pavements. In the 3rd–4th decade of the 20th c., the paving quality became better, wooden pavements were changed by cement brick pavements.
