Lietuviškųjų slapyvardžių aiškinamasis žodynas

LTIki šiol publikuoti lietuviškųj slapyvardži sąrašai, sąvadai buvo žinyninio-informacinio pobūdžio. Juose užfiksuoti identifikuoti slapy vardžiai ir jais pasirašyti kūriniai. Šio leidinio tikslas - paaiškinti slapy vardžius, atskleisti j atsiradimo priežastis ir turinį. Lietuvoje tokio pobūdžio žodynas leidžiamas pirm kartą. Jame slapyvardžiai pateikiami ir aiškinami ne pavieniui, kaip kurio nors teiginio iliustracija, o kaip neatskiriama autoriaus (rašytojo, žurnalisto, visuomenės ar politikos veikėjo) biografijos bei kūrybos dalis. Leidin sudaro įvadinis straipsnis „Slapyvardži aiškinimas" bei skyrelis, apibūdinantis slapyvardži rūšis, ir slapyvardži žodynas pagal autori pavardes bei paaiškint slapyvardži rodyklė. ENDoctor of Humanities JONAS MAČIULIS (b. 1937) worked in the Centre of Bibliography and Book Science of Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania during the period of 1992-2011 He analysed (identified, localized, catalogued) and published Lithuanian pseudonyms. With the help of other library workers, he created computer database of pseudonyms. On basis of the database, in 1995-2010 he compiled and issued 6 books of materials for the digest of Lithuanian pseudonyms. In 2004 he published the capital two volumes digest of pseudonyms used in Lithuanian press till 1990, in 2007 - CD of the digest of pseudonyms. The said publications have referential-informational character. They keep on record identified pseudonyms and works signed with it. The purpose of the Explanatory Dictionary of Lithuanian Pseudonyms is an explanation of pseudonyms, revealing the reasons of their origin and their content. Such kind of dictionary is issued in Lithuania for the first time. Pseudonyms are presented and explained here not as a single names illustrating some proposition but as an inseparable part of biography and creation of an author (writer, journalist, public character or politician). The publication consists of introductory chapters discovering an essence of pseudonymology, analyzing principles and methods of explanation of pseudonyms, and describing types of pseudonyms. The most part of the publication is the dictionary of pseudonyms. At the end of 2010, electronic data base of Lithuanian pseudonyms contained 36,572 pseudonyms of 9,790 authors; among them, 5,870 pseudonyms of 830 persons are explained in the Dictionary. These arc pseudonyms of persons of various professions, various social political views, who lived in various time periods from the beginning of the 19th century till nowadays.The author of the publication singles out two methods of pseudonyms explanation: empirical and interpretational. The first is based mostly on witness of the authors themselves or people who knew them well, and on biographical facts. The second method appeals to an analysis of author's ocuvre and world-view. Here the pseudonym is like the cipher of the creation, the key to the work's essence. Information about pseudonyms explained is arranged by authors' surnames which are named in the content of the dictionary. Index of pseudonyms explained is also presented.
