Semiotikos terminų žodynėlis

LTK. Nastopkos iš prancūzų kalbos versta Algirdo Juliaus Greimo knyga „Struktūrinė semantika. Metodo ieškojimas“ – vienas pamatinių semiotikos darbų. „Ši knyga nėra liudijimas apie praėjusį ir jau pasenusį mąstymą tai – nauja ir itin originali semiotika. ENThe book “Struktūrinė Semantika. Metodo Ieškojimas” by Algirdas Julius Greimas, translated from French by K. Nastopka is one of the framework studies of semiotics. As stated by Erik Landowsky in the preface: “This book is not an evidence of the former and old-fashioned ideas, it presents new and especially original semiotics. The purpose of the book is to explain the moral meaning, political implications and aesthetic potential, in other words, the existential significance of the meaning forming practices, which we choose or do by force of habit, by responding to different situations and the experience, which we face on a day-to-day basis and give it meaning”. A “Glossary of Semiotic Terms”, compiled by the translator is attached at the end of the book. The glossary is comprehensive, explains about ninety meanings of main semiotic concepts. The terms are defined referring to the explanatory dictionary of semiotics by A. J. Greimas and J. Courtes, as well as to the publications by other authors: L. Hjelmslev, J. Fontanille, D. Bertrand. When explaining the terms of the dictionary the primary meaning of the semiotics, as a cognitive object of meaning is referred to. It helps the reader (both the interest-taker and the specialist) to better comprehend the meaning of the study. The glossary is also of value as an individual comprehensive study of semiotics.
