ENChildren’s physical maturity for school is the fundamental part of their total maturity for school. The article deals with the changes in the physical fitness of 5 to 7-year-old-children. The analysis of the outcomes of the research is based on a 20 month experiment that took place in 4 kindergartens of Klaipeda. The change in the fundamental motor fitness components of 5 to 7-year-old-children, i.e. speed and dexterity, static and dynamic balance, bilateral coordination, and strength, are analyzed, and the effective impact of the implementation of the programme of 5 to 7-year-old-children’s maturation for school on the positive change in their physical fitness is proved. On the basis of testing and pedagogical observation, the trends and characteristics of the improvement of the 5 to 7-year-old-children’s motor are identified and specified. [From the publication]
