Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje glaustai pristatomi Halinos Kairiūkštytės-Jacinienės lietuvių istorinės aprangos tyrinėjimai, tuo klausimu rengti, bet taip ir nepublikuoti leidiniai. Analizuojamos šios menotyrininkės atliktos lietuviškos aprangos rekonstrukcijos, ypač XIX a. antrosios pusės – XX a. pradžios liaudies kostiumai. Pastarieji laikytini teoriškai pagrįstu ir praktiškai išvystytu bei detalizuotu lietuvių tautinio kostiumo modeliu, pretendavusiu užimti svarbią vietą lietuvių tautinio kostiumo raidos istorijoje. ENIn 1938, Halina Kairiūkštytė-Jacinienė was the first to have started professional research of the historical Lithuanian dress. Her initial plan to publish a book Lithuanian National Dress in 1940 failed in the chaos of the WWII and the occupation years. Nevertheless, she continued her pre-war toil by collecting bibliography and iconography, complementing the existing material with interviews and studies of remaining samples of national costumes at museums. Partly due to historical circumstances, partly because of the never ending additions to the prospective publication, Kairiūkštytė-Jacinienė's work grew into a wide body of research developed in several directions that went on for 40 years and remained unfinished. In her coloured drawings that she called reconstructions Kairiūkštytė-Jacinienė depicted nearly 280 Lithuanian costumes chronologically dating from the 16th to the beginning of the 20th century. The national costume reconstructions of mid 19th and the beginning of the 20th century are most detailed and accomplished. They deserve to be called original designer national costume models. Considering Kairiūkštytė-Jacinienė's declared goal, method and result, her national costume model equals those models that emulate the authentic folk dress, although some features of it having been adapted for stage transpire. In this respect, the costume model follows the general and, at the time of design, progressive trend prominent in Europe as of the 1930s. Kairiūkštytė-Jacinienė's costume reconstructions have never been made, thus, they remained unknown to the public and had practically no influence to further development of the design of the Lithuanian national dress.
