LTŠiame straipsnyje nagrinėjama šalies regionų konkurencingumo įvertinimo problematika. Pristatomi šalies regionų konkurencingumo vertinimo skirtingais metodais rezultatai. Straipsnyje šalies regiono konkurencingumas vertintas pagal tris metodus: pagal vieną rodiklį (bendrąjį vidaus produktą, tenkantį vienam gyventojui), pagal pramonės eksporto konkurencingumo indeksą ir pagal autorės sukurtą regionų konkurencingumo indeksą (RKI). Nagrinėjamos problematikos analizė susideda iš dviejų dalių: teorinės vertinimo metodų analizės, kurios metu išskiriami šių metodų ypatumai bei empirinės analizės, kurios metu 10 Lietuvos apskričių konkurencingumas vertintas skirtingais metodais. Empiriniame tyrime naudoti 2001-2008 metų duomenys, kurie apdoroti matematiniais ir statistiniais metodais. ENWhile the concept of regional competitiveness is not formed yet at the academic level and the method of competitiveness measurement, which is grounded methodologically and accepted generally, is still missing, the competitiveness of a region can be measured in different ways: analyzing by one or several factors of competitiveness, creating composite indices, etc. Every method has its advantages and disadvantages. In order to find the most proper and accurate method for measuring the regional competitiveness, the methodology of these methods and the gained results should be evaluated. The research let to find out, that: - Results of measurement of the medium competitive regions are more sensitive to the techniques of the measurement than the one of stronger or slighter competitive regions; - The export cannot be identified as indicator of competitiveness. The export is one of the factors, which influence the competitiveness of regions. - Regional competitiveness cannot be completely defined by one or several economic social indicators, thus complex measurement of competitiveness is a must. The measurement by a composite index helps to solve the problem of a complex measurement of regional competitiveness. The index should analyze the competitiveness multifaceted, and not analyze the problem in one aspect. RCI is an appropriate mean of regional competitiveness measurement within the country.
