Educational assistance to convicted juvenile offenders by educators working at the houses of correction

LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjami ugdymo proceso ypatumai Kauno nepilnamečių tardymo izoliatoriuje ir pataisos namuose bei Panevėžio pataisos namuose. Siekiant įvertinti pedagogų, dirbančių pataisos namuose, teikiamą pagalbą nuteistiems paaugliams, atlikta apklausa, kurioje dalyvavo 84 pedagogai (31 vyras ir 53 moterys), dirbantys su nepilnamečiais pataisos namuose Kaune ir Panevėžyje. Gautų rezultatų analizė atskleidė, kad 53 proc. moterų ir 46 proc. vyrų pedagogų pasižymi kompetencija organizuoti ir vykdyti delinkventiško elgesio paauglių ugdymo procesą. Nustatyta, kad pedagogai geba lavinti pataisos namuose esančių jaunuolių pozityvią savivertę ir pasitikėjimą, įgyvendinti ugdymą palaikančią sistemą (ypač skatinant jaunuolių iniciatyvą, pastangas pasiekti norimą rezultatą, ugdymo proceso planavimą ir turinio atnaujinimą). Pedagogai taip pat pasižymi gebėjimu padėti delinkventiško elgesio paaugliams atpažinti savo lūkesčius ir jų siekti (ugdymo poreikių nustatymas, reikalavimų atliekant individualias užduotis paaiškinimas), gebėjimu sukurti tokią aplinką, kuri padėtų paaugliams patirti pasitenkinimą mokymusi, įsitraukti į dėstomą dalyką, palaikytų motyvaciją. 88 proc. mokytojų vyrų ir 47 proc. mokytojų moterų nurodo, kad ugdymo proceso turinys yra mažai orientuotas į kompetencijų, reikalingų nusikaltusiems paaugliams, ugdymą. ENThe article covers organization of educational work in Kaunas Juvenile Remand Prison and Correction House, and in Panevėžys Correction House. It is based an empirical research carried out at the houses of correction. During the research, were interviewed the employees of the houses of correction, who are doing the educative work with the convicted juveniles. Education of the juvenile offenders at the correction houses is very relevant because of the increasing juvenile delinquency. The article states that the employees at the houses of correction have specific ability to help juveniles recognize their own expectations and pursue them (determination of educational needs, explication of the requirements set for performance of individual work tasks), also capacity for creating the environment that would help juveniles to experience the joy of learning, as well as the ability to engage them into the subject of education, while sustaining the educational motivation; however the educational content is little oriented around the development of competences relevant to juveniles.
