ENThe article evaluates quality management in a medical organization. According to the collected theoretical and practical material, there are reviewed principles of quality management and aspects of quality management related to organizational management and the active role of managers. The first part of this paper analyses theoretically quality management in the medical organizations system. Quality management is part of the total management function of the organisation that sets the policy of quality, goals, duties and quality management means. Management of health care organizations encompasses planning, organization, management and work control of the organization’s members; it uses all the resources of an organization to achieve the raised goals. It is possible to point out the most important management problems appearent in health care organizations (in hierarch order): the problem of financial resources; the problem of human resources; the problem of risk management; the methodological problem improving the quality of technologies; the problem of slowdown of changes; the problem of market. Speaking about the quality management of health care organizations, risk management is very important in these organizations. We can draw a conclusion that nowadays more attention is paid to risk management in the whole health care system and organizations. Quality management systems, which are applied in health care organizations, must be adapted to the nature of activities of these organizations, and they should help to improve the quality of the activities. The selection of a quality management system in health care organizations depends on the nature of the organization (public/private), particularity of given services, understanding of quality in it, as well as desirable results. Quality management in medical organization is given analyzing the quality security system in medical laboratories.In the second part of the paper there are given the results of the performed quality management survey in a medical organization. They reveal that the raised hypothesis: The quality management in a medical organization depends on the endeavor of a manager to reach quality, proved out. This allows to make a conclusion that quality management in a medical organization depends on the endeavor of a manager to reach quality. [From the publication]
