EN"Communication", "information" and "mass media" - these concepts are used more and more often in the universities and schools as well as business sphere, governmental and cultural institutions and even in our private life. Actually, the modern culture based on synthesis of images and sounds is comprised of these concepts. The existence of our civilization would be impossible without these cornerstones. This publication is like a logic follow-up related with another book "Kultūra kaip žinia. Nuo ženklo iki teksto" ("Culture as the Message. From the Sign to the Text") written by the author, it has revealed both the systematic attitude towards culture as communication process when particular information may be started up and the semiotic nature of information - the most relevant "material" for media; furthermore, that publication explains the essence of process how communication as information is transmitted, gathered and processed. The title of the book - "How to Manage Media" is like paraphrasing of the study "Understanding Media" presented by widely known mediums theorist M. McLuhan, however, the author of that publication has set very simple goal - to make readers familiar with both the already existing methods for mediums management - electronic mass media i.e. radio, television, cinema and their content - audiovisual projects production and management process, it is possible to maintain that the producer's activity is based on these things.The publication includes all fundamental parts o f systemic teaching necessary for electronic media studies, starting with principles of communication theory and focusing on theoretical and practical aspects of media tools (apparatus) management and their usage in audiovisual projects development (practice).
