Medijų kultūra ar "atminties transformacijos"? : Žaliojo tilto atvejis ir kiti paminklai

LTApžvelgiama Žaliojo tilto Vilniuje skulptūrinių grupių bei kai kurių kitų miesto paminklų refleksija žiniasklaidoje ir meniniuose „pranešimuose“ bei kvestionuojamos kolektyvinės kultūrinės atminties galimybės. Teigiama, jog viešosios erdvės kultūra, ypač paminklų vertinimai, iš principo įkūnija tam tikrus paradoksus. Viena vertus, visuomenėje neretai eskaluojamas kokio nors įvykio ar personos „reikšmingumas“ (tokiu eskalavimu paprastai prasideda bet kokio naujo paminklo statymo vajus). Kita vertus – dažnai girdime kalbant apie kolektyvinio identiteto neapibrėžtumą ir nepastovumą; taip tarsi paneigiama vienprasmiškos nacionalinės reprezentacijos būtinybė. Savo ruožtu, naujosios medijos (internetas) ir „mozaikinio“ pobūdžio žiniasklaidos pranešimai turi įtakos kultūrinės atminties kaitos „dažnumui“; netgi „amžinybės ženklais“ tapusios granito ar bronzos skulptūros nelengvai „atsilaiko“ prieš manipuliacijas viešojoje erdvėje ar ne visada lengvai prognozuojamus ideologinius praeities vertinimus. ENThe text explores the new ideological situation of totalitarian Žaliasis tiltas (the Green bridge) sculptures in Vilnius that were built here in 1952. This situation, on the one hand, has been provoked by some "objective" remarks of politicians who in 2009 declared that the four sculptural groups of the bridge are "almost crumbling" and are prone to processes of desolation which threatens the safety of passengers. On the other hand, the new-sprung discussions illustrated the changing climate of collective memory along the media scandals, which depicted the aesthetic of sculptures in positive or negative way. The upcoming restoration (and the monetary cost of it) almost naturally inspired rhetorical questions - Who (Russia or Lithuania?) is responsible for restoring the cultural heritage of Žaliasis tiltas? For today it became quite obvious that even temporal removal of sculptures from their original places may have political consequences. The analogous situation of some other sculptures and somewhat spontaneously changing media opinions are also touched upon in the article. By relying on Vilnius' examples, the article ultimately shows that the significance of historical memory gets inflated politically and today it usually starts with a drive for the construction of a new monument in Vilnius for some nationally important person or event. On the other hand, frequent discussions on indefinite and inconsistent collective identity questions the very idea of the need for univocal national representation. [From the publication]
