Dėl būdvardžio "grubus" laikymo semantizmu

LTStraipsnyje gvildenama lietuvių kalbos būdvardžio grubus, vartojamo reikšmėmis „nemandagus, įžūlus" ir „didelis", laikymo semantizmu problema: aptariama jo (ne)taisymo tradicija; nagrinėjamos skirtingos žodžio semantinės struktūros, teikiamos „Lietuvių kalbos žodyne" ir „Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos žodyne"; surinkti pavyzdžiai analizuojami semantiniu požiūriu ir lyginami su atitinkamais būdvardžio šiurkštus junginiais; remiantis „Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos tekstyno" duomenimis apžvelgiama realioji dabartinė vartosena. Straipsnyje keliama mintis, kad būdvardžio grubus reikšmės „nemandagus, įžūlus" ir „didelis" yra ne skolintinės, o perkeltinės šalutinės reikšmės (atsiradusios daugiausia dėl analogijos su sinonimiškai vartojamu ir tokias reikšmes turinčiu būdvardžiu „šiurkštus“), todėl kalbinio pagrindo griežtai taisyti jomis vartojamą būdvardį nėra. ENThe article examines the semantic issue of the Lithuanian adjective “grubus” (harsh, rough, and rude) used in the meaning of “impolite, rude” and “huge”. It pays attention to the tradition of (none)correction. In addition, it looks at different semantic structures of the word presented in the Lithuanian language dictionary and Modern Lithuanian language dictionary. The collected examples are analysed from the semantic point of view and compared with respective combinations of the adjective “šiurkštus” (rough, course, rude); data from the Modern Lithuanian Language Text Collection („Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos tekstynas") are used to show the current usage of the word. The article argues that the meanings of the adjective “grubus”, i.e. impolite, rude and huge, have not been borrowed but have been used in analogy with the synonym “šiurkštus”). Therefore, there is no linguistic basis for strictly correcting the usage of this adjective.
