Formation of student teachers' pedagogical competence during teaching practice

LTŠiuolaikinio mokytojo pedagoginė kompetencija ir jos nuolatinis tobulėjimas yra esminis veiksnys, lemiantis mokytojo profesinę raidą ir aukštos kokybės profesinę veiklą. Pedagoginė praktika tarnauja kaip pagrindas formuotis ir toliau vystytis būsimojo mokytojo pedagoginei kompetencijai, todėl labai svarbu tyrinėti būsimųjų mokytojų pedagoginės kompetencijos vystymąsi. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama studentų, būsimųjų mokytojų, profesinės kompetencijos formavimasis praktikos metu. Tyrime dalyvavo 306 studentai, studijuojantys Vilniaus pedagoginiame universitete. Studentų nuomone, mokymosi visą gyvenimą, metodologinės ir kognityvinės kompetencijos yra svarbiausios mokytojui. Pedagoginės praktikos pradžioje studentai aukščiausiai vertino komunikacines, vadovavimo ir mokymosi visą gyvenimą kompetencijas. Po bandomosios pamokos būsimieji mokytojai įvertino savo pedagogines kompetencijas geriau, o komunikacines, kognityvines ir tęstinio mokymo kompetencijas įvertino aukščiausiai. Nustatyta, kad studentai stokoja valdymo kompetencijų. Rekomenduojama į tai atsižvelgti studijų metu ir taip organizuoti būsimųjų mokytojų rengimą, kad taikomi metodai prisidėtų prie valdymo kompetencijos ugdymo. Nustatytas ryšys tarp atskirų studentų kompetencijų komponentų ir atskirų mokymo praktikos fazių. ENThe pedagogical competence of modern teacher and its constant improvement are the essential factors determining the teacher’s professional development and high-quality professional activity. Pedagogical practice serves as a basis for the formation and further development of pedagogical competence of the future teacher; therefore, it is very important to explore the development of pedagogical competence of future teachers. The paper analyses the formation of professional competence of student teachers during the teaching practice. The survey included 306 students from Vilnius Pedagogical University. According to the students, lifelong learning, methodological and cognitive competences are most important to the teacher. At the beginning of the teaching practice, the students gave the highest scores to communication, leadership and lifelong learning competences. After a demo lesson future teachers evaluated their pedagogical competences better and gave the highest scores to their communication, cognitive and lifelong learning competences. The survey established that students lack management competences. This is recommended to be taken into account at studies; the training of future teachers should be organised in such a way that the methods employed contributed to the development of management competence. The relationship between individual students’ competence components and individual phases of the teaching practice was identified. It could be stated that the improvement of individual components of pedagogical competence determines a positive impact on the overall pedagogical competence.
