LTInformacinės ir komunikacinės technologijos (IKT) vis plačiau skverbiasi į įvairias gyvenimo sferas. Galima teigti, kad gebėjimo taikyti IKT trūkumas dažnai susilpnina profesinės veiklos efektyvumą, todėl per pastaruosius kelerius metus IKT integruoti skiriamas vis didesnis dėmesys. IKT leidžia paįvairinti ugdymo procesą, jį keičia, skatina besimokančiuosius dirbti, lavinti ir įtvirtinti mokymosi įgūdžius bei gebėjimus. 2007 m. VPU Informacinių technologijų ir Informatikos katedrų iniciatyva athktas Vilniaus pedagoginio universiteto personalo IKT kompetencijų bei poreikio mokytis kompiuterinio raštingumo, informacinių technologijų (IT) naujovių, IKT taikymo mokyme ir pan. tyrimas. ENThe efficiency of contemporary professional activity is often connected with application of information and communication technologies (ICT). The abilities of the university personnel to apply ICT in their work are the guarantee o f the quality improvement and modernization o f the study process. For the evaluation and forecast of current situation, on the initiative o f Informatics and Information technologies the departments, in 2007 the investigation on the needs o f VPU personnel to learn computer literacy, innovations of information technologies, and their applications in education, etc. was carried out. The paper presents the results of the investigation. The investigated ICT competences of the personnel in the following fields: The basics of computer literacy; the use o f computer and information management; editing texts; spreadsheets; databases; preparing presentations; information and communication. In addition, forms of learning and the needs to learn and deepen knowledge in other fields of ICT was also analyzed: e-learning, virtual learning environments, open source software for various fields of applications; programming; preparing teaching material for distance learning; statistical data processing on computer; creation of web sites; computer graphics and design; computer algebra systems, etc. The investigation showed that more than 94 % of the respondents expressed willingness to improve their qualification and ICT competences.From the given ICT application fields, the personnel are most interested in statistic data processing (52.5 % ), computer graphics (42.3 % ), creating websites (34.6 %) and others. The most appropriate and popular way of learning is that in a classroom with a teacher supervising. The second according to the popularity is the independent learning with a teacher consulting. The results of the investigation can serve organizing teaching o f VPU personnel. [From the publication]
