Joniškis XVI-XVIII a.

LTArcheologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Joniškyje prasidėjo 1990 m. Tyrinėjimai tęsiasi iki dabar. Radiniai Joniškio mieste yra skiriami į 2 horizontus – geležies amžiaus ir laikotarpį po XVI a. Tebesitęsia diskusija – kur kūrėsi Joniškio miestas: ar dabartinėje vietoje, ar dabartinio Kalnelio kaimo vietoje, ir tik po 1594 m. gaisro persikėlė į dabartinę vietą. Paskutinieji tyrinėjimai rodo, kad miestas kūrėsi dabartinėje vietoje. Tai patvirtintų urbanistinė miesto gatvių struktūra, kuri yra paveldėta iš priešistorinių laikų. Archeologinių žvalgomųjų tyrinėjimų metu yra rasta XVII–XVIII a. pastatų liekanos – iš akmenų krauti pamatai ir akmeniniai grindiniai. XVII–XVIII a. datuojamų individualių radinių surasta nedaug: akmeninės plokštelės, galąstuvo, apavo fragmentai, varinė saga, titnaginis šautuvo trapecijos formos skiltuvas, profiliuota S raidės formos varinė rankenėlė, verpstukas, žiestos keramikos. Keramika skirstoma į kelias grupes: tradicinė krašto, miestų (oksidacinė glazūruota ir neglazūruota). XVII–XVIII a. paplito oksidacinėje aplinkoje degtos lėkštės ir dubenėliai. Kokliai Joniškyje aptinkami nuo XVI a. pabaigos – XVII a. Jų padaugėjo nuo XVII a. antros pusės. Kokliai yra skirstomi į kelias grupes – puodyninius, frontalius, karnizinius geometriniu ornamentu ir profiliuotus. Tyrinėjimų metu buvo rasta XVII–XVIII a. Rusijos, LDK, Lenkijos, Švedijos monetų bei atsitiktinai jų lobiai. Likusią masinių radinių grupę sudaro gyvūnų kaulai bei statybinis laužas – geležinės kaltinės vinys, plytų, banguotų čerpių fragmentai, langų stiklo, dengto žalsva patina, duženos. ENArchaeological explorations in Joniškis started in 1990. The explorations are still continued. The finds in Joniškis town are divided into 2 horizons – of the Iron Age and of the period after the 16th century. It is still discussed where Joniškis was established: at its present location or at the location of the present village of Kalnelis, from where it was moved to the present location after the fire of 1594. The latest investigations show that the town was established at its present location. It is confirmed by urban structure of the town streets inherited from prehistoric times. During the archaeological explorations the remnants of the buildings of the 17th-18th centuries were found, namely boulder foundations and stone pavements. The individual finds dated to the 16th-18th centuries are scarce: stone plates, fragments of a sharpener and footwear, a copper button, a flint trapezium-shaped gun striker, a copper S-form handle, a small distaff, some pottery. The pottery is divided in several groups: traditional for this country, pottery of towns (oxidative glazed and not glazed). In the 17th-18th centuries plates and tureens baked in oxidative medium became popular. Tiles were found in Joniškis since the end of the 16th century – the 17th century. Since the second half of the 17th century they increased in numbers. Tiles are divided into several groups: pot tiles, frontal tiles, cornice-type tiles with geometric ornament and profiled tiles. During the investigations coins of Russian, Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Poland and Sweden of the 17th-18th centuries were found. The remaining group of mass finds consists of animal bones and construction debris.
