Žinios apie dangaus šviesulius Griškabūdžio apylinkėse

LTStraipsnio objektas – Griškabūdžio (Šakių r.) apylinkių senosios kartos gyventojų tradicinės žinios apie Mėnulį, Saulę, žvaigždes. Tikslas – autoriaus surinktą medžiagą susisteminti ir įvertinti kitų šaltinių turimų žinių atžvilgiu. Straipsnio autorius teigia, kad Griškabūdžio apylinkėse, kaip ir kitur, išlikusios liaudies astronomijos žinios yra labai fragmentiškos ir pasireiškia daugiausia tik kaip prisiminimai apie senesnes žinias, kurias turėjo pasakotojų tėvai ir seneliai. Anot straipsnio autoriaus, vienoje vietoje sukaupti ir sugretinti liaudies astronomijos fragmentai leidžia bent iš dalies suvokti seniau egzistavusių liaudies astronomijos žinių visumos pobūdį ir turinį. Dauguma išlikusių žinių apie dangaus šviesulius yra praktinio pobūdžio, jos sietinos su paros ir kalendorinio laiko skaičiavimu, meteorologinių sąlygų ir derliaus bei kitokios naudos prognozavimu. Dalis žinių yra pasaulėžiūrinio, kosmologinio pobūdžio, jų tikslas aiškinamasis, etiologinis. Kai kuriais atvejais išlikusiose žiniose galima įžvelgti itin archajiškų mitinių motyvų. Tokiais motyvais, anot straipsnio autoriaus reikėtų laikyti žmogaus sielos siejimą su žvaigžde, Aušrinės pagrobimą ir vandenį semiančią merginą įtraukusį Mėnulį, taip pat Mėnulio fazių kaitos aiškinimą jį užslenkant už kažkokios uolos. ENThe paper focuses on the inhabitants‘ of the old generation of Šakiai District around Griškabūdis traditional knowledge on the Moon, the Sun and stars. The paper is based on the 1992 field research carried out interviewing 65 respondents using the specific questionnaire designed to gather data on folk astronomy (Vaiškūnas 1989). The collected material is systemised and analysed based on the data provided by other sources. People‘s knowledge of astronomy in Griškabūdis like in other areas of Lithuania is very fragmentary and manifests itself as memories of the older knowledge possessed by the respondents' parents and grandparents. The fragments of folk astronomy knowledge gathered by Vaiškūnas allow to at least partially determine the type and content of the totality of ancient folk astronomy understanding. Most surviving knowledge of celestial objects is practical, related to breaking time into day and night and keeping track of calendar time as well as forecasting meteorological conditions, harvest and other material gain. Some knowledge is associated with people‘s worldview and are cosmogonist by nature. Their purpose is explanatory, etiological. In some cases the surviving knowledge reveals extremely archaic mythological insights, for example, associating people's souls with stars, stories about Aušrinė‘s abduction or the Moon that sucked in a girl who was drawing water as well as explaining the change of moon phases by its hiding behind a rock.The discussed folk knowledge of astronomy points out to the main belief on which the whole worldview was based and that celestial and earthly phenomena are related. A human being living in such a cosmic environment is compelled to watch the sky and the movement of celestial objects in order to coordinate his own work and life with them. Alas, today having lost any practical meaning traditional folk knowledge of astronomy has arrived at the point of extinction both in the land of zanavykai and elsewhere in Lithuania.
