At first it belonged to the Burbos-Gervydai family, the other part of it being the property o f the Tuchanovskiai family. In the 17th century the manor belonged to the bishops of Žemaitija (to Jurgis Tiškevičius); in 1776 it was received by A. Gedgaudas, a restless person who was fond o f building. At the beginning of the 18th century the manor fell to the Danilavičiai share and later on in the second half o f the 19th century to the Sakeliai. The later built a brick palace, the standard of farming was kept high at that time. In 1901, Šatrijos Ragana, a famous Lithuanian writer and pedagogue, came to the manor and began to teach the Sakeliai children. Here she became involved in social activities, wrote to numerous newspapers and devoted much time to creative work. Later she left the Pavandenė manor for Switzerland and soon was followed by Gabrielė Sakelytė. Four of her pupils, the Sakelytės, inspired by their teacher to work for common welfare became teachers and doctors and gained respect in Žemaitija. Now the manor needs restoration and care.
