LTStraipsnyje pristatoma 2002 m. ENOn August 27th, 2002, in New York, the USA, after a stroke died the winner of Lithuanian national prize, the translator of the Old Testament into the Lithuanian language, honorary doctor of Vytautas Magnus university and a member of its Senate and the professor of Catholic Theology faculty at Vytautas Magnus university, prelate prof. dr. Antanas Rubšys. The prelate's personal archive, revealing his religious and pedagogical heritage for Lithuania and the Church is of big importance either to the faculty or to the Lithuanian Catholic Church. So this article, based on the earlier partial research (a study by prelate assoc. prof. dr. Vytautas Steponas Vaičiūnas "We remember the prelate Antanas Rubšys", and a MA research in religious sciences, accomplished by Agota Rimkutė, "The religious-pedagogical heritage of the prelate Antanas Rubšys to Lithuania"), and the latest data from his personal archive. These are very actual problems nowadays, and they inspire us to do research on Lithuanian exodus authors, their works and heritage, and to give their evaluation. The following research tries to show the heritage of the prelate prof. dr. Antanas Rubšys and its importance to Lithuanian Church and science. There are some tasks in order to reach this: firstly to show the contents of the prelate prof. dr. Antanas Rubšys' personal archive; secondly, to analyse the aims of it and thirdly, to show its importance to Lithuanian Church and science. Retrospective, analytic and synthetic scientific methods were used in the research. The research showed that the cultural heritage of prel. prof. dr. A. Rubšys for Lithuania consists of his published and translated books, scientific and popular articles, lectures in Theology faculty at Vytautas Magnus university, the Department of Catholic Religion in Faculty of History at Vilnius Pedagogical university, at Vilnius St. Joseph's and Telšiai Vincas Borisevičius' priests seminaries, and his scripts. The results of the research based the thesis that the prel. prof. dr. A. Rubšys' heritage for Lithuania is miscellaneous together with his spiritual and academic activities, having ecumenical contacts with other denominations. [From the publication]
