Lietuvos istorija tarp apšvietos ir romantizmo

LTStraipsnyje aptariama istoriografinė Lietuvos tradicija ir romantizmo problematika. Romantizmas tiesiogiai darė įtaką nacionalinės savimonės formavimuisi. Romantikų santykis su praeitimi rėmėsi į atmintį, kurią formavo protas ir jausmai. Susidomėjimas istorija Lietuvos-Lenkijos valstybėje pastebimas dar XVIII a. viduryje, kai gresiant vidinei anarchijai ir kaimyninių valstybių priešiškumui krašto šviesuoliai ieškojo edukacinių priemonių pilietiškumui ugdyti. Realią socialinę išraišką turintis praktinis interesas pynėsi su XVIII pabaigos – pirmos XIX a. pusės tautinio judėjimo ideologija. Straipsnyje aptariama Teodoro Narbuto „Lietuvių tautos istorija“, nubrėžusi tautinių šaknų ieškojimo programą, ir Mykolo Balinskio „Vilniaus miesto istorija“, davusi pradžią Vilniaus miesto istorijos mokslinei istoriografijai. Publikacijoje taip pat gvildenamos Simono Daukanto ir Juozapo Jaroševičiaus Lietuvos civilizacijos koncepcijos. Jaroševičiui XIV–XVIII a. gyvavusi LDK – tai savita, unijos ryšiais sujungta su Lenkijos Karalyste valstybė, patyrusi milžinišką pastarosios įtaką. Istorikas skyrė etnografines ir istorines lietuvių ir Lietuvos teritorijų sienas, nepainiojo etnografinės ir etnopolitinės lietuvio sąvokų. Daukantas bandė pagrįsti buvusios LDK žemių lietuviškumą, savaip aiškindamas lietuvio etnonimą. Daukantas kaip lietuvių tautinės istoriografijos pradininkas užgožė kitus pirmos XIX a. pusės lenkiškai rašiusius istorikus. ENThe article discusses the historiographical Lithuanian tradition and problems of romanticism. Romanticism had a direct impact on the formation of national identity. The relationship of romantics with the past relied on memory that was formed of mind and feelings. Interest in history is noticed in the Lithuanian-Polish state back in the middle of the eighteenth century, when intellectuals of the country sought for educational means to develop citizenship in the face of internal anarchy and enmity of neighbouring countries. Practical interest, which had a real social expression, entwined with the national movement ideology of the end of the eighteenth – first half of the nineteenth century. The article discuses The History of the Lithuanian Nation by Teodoras Narbutas, which defined a programme for the exploration of the roots of the nation, and The History of Vilnius City by Mykolas Balinskis, which marked the beginning of the scientific historiography of the history of Vilnius city. The publication also deals with the concepts of the Lithuanian civilisation proposed by Simonas Daukantas and Juozapas Jaroševičius. For Jaroševičius, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania that existed in the fourteenth – eighteenth centuries is a unique state connected with the Kingdom of Poland by links of a union that experienced a tremendous influence on the latter. The historian distinguished ethnographic and historical boundaries of Lithuanians and Lithuania and did not confuse the ethnographic and ethnopolitical concepts of a Lithuanian. Daukantas tired to justify the Lithuanian national identity of the former lands of the GDL, explaining the ethnonym of a Lithuanian in his own way. As the pioneer of the national Lithuanian historiography, Daukantas overshadowed other historians who wrote in Polish in the first half of the nineteenth century. Nevertheless, his works are attributed to the historiographical tradition of Lithuania which is viewed by today’s Lithuanian humanitari.
