Logistics centre concept through evolution and definition
LTStraipsnio tikslas - remiantis logistikos centrų vystymosi ir raidos apžvalga bei esamų logistikos centro sampratų ir apibrėžimų analize, išskirti arba suformuluoti logistikos centro sąvoką, kuri leistų apibendrinti logistikos centro sampratą. Pagal literatūroje pateikiamus raidos etapus, logistikos centrai gali būti skirstomi į tris kategorijas, kurios remiasi logistikos paslaugų įvairovės ir veiklos masto kriterijumi. Trečiosios kategorijos logistikos centrai teikia ne tik tradicines paslaugas (prekių priėmimas, saugojimas, krovinių konsolidavimas, kt.), bet ir pridėtinę vertę kuriančias logistikos paslaugas. Esamos logistikos centrų sampratos išsiskiria dviem kryptimis: autoriai, teigiantys, jog logistikos centro sąvoka atitinka sandėlio, paskirstymo centro, transporto terminalo ir kt. logistikos patalpų pavadinimų sąvokas; autoriai, apibrėžiantys logistikos centrą konkrečia sąvoka, tačiau atskirais atvejais prilyginantys jį atitinkamai kitoms logistikos patalpų pavadinimų sąvokoms. Logistikos centro funkcijų gausa yra labai svarbus logistikos patalpų vertinimo kriterijus. Straipsnyje pateikiamas autorių sudarytas logistikos patalpų hierarchijos modelis, atskleidžiantis ryšį tarp išskirtų sąvokų bei nurodantis galimybę sisteminti mokslinėje literatūroje aptinkamų apibrėžimų bei sampratų įvairovę, išskiriant teikiamų paslaugų aspektą. Remiantis modeliu, įvairiai autorių apibrėžiamas logistikos patalpų sampratas galima išdėstyti trijų lygių atžvilgiu. Apibendrinant tyrimo rezultatus, remiantis logistikos centrų raidos etapais, išanalizuotomis įvairių autorių sąvokomis ir akcentuojamomis savybėmis, autoriai apibrėžė ir pasiūlė bendrą logistikos centro sąvoką.
ENThe purpose of the article is to accentuate or define the concept of logistics on the grounds of the review on the development of logistics centers and evolution as well as the analysis of existing concepts and definitions of logistics, which would enable to summarize the concept of logistics. According to the stages of development provided by literature, logistics centers can be divided into three categories, which are based on the criterion of the diversity and extent of logistic services. The logistics centers of third category provide not only traditional services (acceptance, storage of goods, freight consolidation, etc.), but also the logistics services which generate a surplus value. The concepts of existing logistics center are distinguished by two aspects: the authors who claim the concept of logistics center to correspond to the concepts of the names of warehouse, distribution center, transport terminal and others; and the authors who define the logistics center by a particular concept, but in some cases equate it to other concepts of the names of logistics facilities respectively. Abundance of the functions of logistics center is a very important criterion for the evaluation of logistics facilities. This article presents the hierarchical model of logistic center concluded by the author, revealing the relationship between the abstracted concepts and indicating the possibility to organize the diversity of the definitions and concepts found in the scientific literature by highlighting the aspects of the services being provided. According to the model, concepts of logistics facilities defined diversely by the authors may be arranged in respect of three levels. Summarizing the study results with reference to the stages of the development of logistics centers, analyzed concepts and the features emphasized by various authors, the authors defined and proposed a combined concept of logistics center.
