Peculiarities of manifestation of problem solving competence in population of primary school children and teachers

LTStraipsnyje teoriškai ir praktiškai pagrindžiama problemų sprendimo kompetencijos kaip bendrosios kompetencijos, įgalinančios žmogų sėkmingai mokytis ir dirbti įvairiose srityse, bei kaip vieno iš svarbiausių socializacijos veiksnių, užtikrinančių profesinę ir asmeninę asmens sėkmę besikeičiančiame gyvenime, svarba. Pateikiama išsami filosofinio, edukologinio, psichologinio ir kt. teorinio diskurso analizė, kurios pagrindu operacionalizuota problemų sprendimo kompetencija, t.y. išskirti svarbiausi jos komponentai bei parengtas ir empiriškai (pradinių klasių mokinių ir mokytojų populiacijoje) patikrintas šios kompetencijos tyrimo instrumentas. Empirinio tyrimo pagrindu analizuojami dviejų pagrindinių ugdymo proceso dalyvių – mokinių (n=539) ir mokytojų (n=246) – problemų sprendimo kompetencijos raiškos ypatumai. Teorinio ir empirinio tyrimo rezultatų analizė parodė, kad ir mokinių, ir mokytojų problemų sprendimo kompetencija (taip pat ir atskiri jos komponentai) nėra aukšto lygio. Ji priskiriama antram iš penkių išskirtų problemų sprendimo kompetencijos išsivystymo lygių. Tačiau šis faktas negali būti vertinamas teigiamai, nes, kaip rodo tyrimas, abi tiriamųjų grupės nėra pakankamai pasirengusios spręsti problemas konkrečiose situacijose ir savo galimybių ribose bei daryti tai savarankiškai, kūrybiškai ir kritiškai. Kadangi praktiškai neįmanoma išugdyti tai, ko neturi pats ugdytojas, nepakankamai aukšto lygio mokytojų problemų sprendimo kompetencija savo ruožtu sąlygoja ir nepakankamą mokinių (ypač pradinių klasių) problemų sprendimo kompetencijos išsivystymo lygmenį. ENThe article provides a theoretical and practical analysis of the importance of problem-solving competence as a general competence that enables a human being to successfully study and gain employment in various areas, and as one of the most important factors of socialization that ensures a person’s professional and personal success in life. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the philosophical, psychological and other theoretical discourse and explores the problem-solving competence, i.e. distinguishes its key components, as well as prepares and empirically tests the method for the study of this competence (in the population of primary school students and teachers). On the basis of the empirical research, the article analyses the level of the problem-solving competence of the two main participants of the educational process – students (n=539) and teachers (n=246). The analysis of the theoretical and empirical research revealed that the level of problem-solving competence of both students and teachers (as well as its individual components) is not high. It falls into the second problem-solving competence development level of the five that were distinguished. Furthermore, as shown by the research, both groups are not sufficiently ready to either solve problems in particular situations within the limits of their competence or do it independently, creatively and critically. The insufficient level of the teachers’ problem-solving competence influences the development of the students’ (especially, primary school student’s) problem-solving competence.
