Laisvė kūrybiniam miestui: kūrybos industrijų kontūrai Kaune

LTNeslūgstantis susirūpinimas Kauno miesto plėtra, jo dinamika, vieta šalies ir pasaulio kontekste, iki šiol atviras miesto tapatumo, jo įvaizdžio ir ateities vizijos klausimas verčia ieškoti konstruktyvių atsakymų. Galimybė Kauną plėtoti kūrybinio miesto linkme yra viena iš tikėtinai pozityvių perspektyvų, kurios pagrindimui reikalingi daugiasluoksniai tyrimai. Naujausios miestų plėtros teorijos vis drąsiau, įtikinamiau pabrėžia kritinę kultūros/kūrybos industrijos svarbą ir reikšmę miestų, jų kvartalų, rajonų (at)gaivinimo, gyvinimo, jų plėtros procesuose. Šiame straipsnyje aptariamos kūrybinio miesto, kūrybinių kvartalų koncepcijos, atkreipiamas dėmesys į kūrybos industrijų ir kūrybinių klasterių įtaką miestų plėtrai, dinamikai jų kultūrinei infrastruktūrai; pristatomi ir analizuojami atlikto Kauno ir Laisvės alėjos zonos kūrybos industrijų tyrimo rezultatai. Tyrimo rezultatai atskleidžia kiekybiškai skaitlingą kūrybos industrijų vienetų skalę bei jų pasiskirstymo ypatumus Kauno mieste. Lyderiaujančias pozicijas užimančios laisvalaikio ir pramogų, atlikėjų menų, architektūros ir projektavimo, reklamos sritys neabejotinai byloja apie specifinį kūrybinio potencialo charakterį mieste. Tačiau kiekybinė jų išraiška nebūtinai atspindi jų kokybinę potenciją: pavieniai ženklai signalizuoja apie jų silpnybes ir menką, o neretais atvejais, ir negatyvų poveikį bendram miesto įvaizdžio klimatui. Tačiau tuo pat metu negalime paneigti akivaizdžios jų potencijos, o tiksliau - erdvės, atvirų nišų naujiems, taikliau į laikmečio taktą pataikantiems pajėgumams skleistis. ENUnabated concern with the development of Kaunas city, its dynamics, place in the context of the country and the world as well as an open issue of city identity, its image and future vision induces to search for constructive answers. The possibility to develop Kaunas towards a creative city conception is one of virtually positive perspectives that need to be validated using multilevel research. The article discusses the conceptions of creative city and creative quarter; the focus is on the influence of creative industries and creative clusters on the development, dynamics and cultural infrastructure of cities. The results of the study on creative industries in Kaunas and Laisvės avenue area are introduced and analyzed. Study results reveal a quantitatively numerous scale of creative industry units and the peculiarities of their distribution in Kaunas. Leading spheres of entertainment, performers, art, architecture and design, as well as advertising are evidently pointing to a specific character of creative potential in the town. Their qualitative expression, however, does not necessarily reflect their quality potential: individual signs indicate their weaknesses and poor and often even negative impact on the general climate of the city image. Yet, simultaneously, their obvious potential, or, to be more precise, the space and open niches for the development of innovative more up-to-date capacities, cannot be denied. On the other hand, their strengths precondition the formation of new town identities.The New Town or Laisvės avenue area is an integral part of Kaunas as a creative and cultural city. The majority of all creative industries in Kaunas are located in the territory, i.e. Laisvės avenue area is the centre of entertainment, tourism and information, culture, art and science. Although the abundance of creative industry units in the New Town does not guarantee its vitality, it allows to perceive the shape of active texture and, on the basis of it, to form functional activity balance of Laisvės avenue area as a creative block that guarantees multiple utilization as well as its vision oriented towards the specific clusters of creative industry units.
