LTTurizmas - viena iš perspektyviausių ūkio šakų mažoms, patogią geografinę padėtį ir gamtinius bei kultūrinius išteklius turinčioms šalims. Jau keli dešimtmečiai mokslininkai, įvairios valstybės institucijos ir politikai didžiausią dėmesį skiria atvykstamajam ir vietiniam turizmui. Išvykstamasis turizmas neaktualizuojamas moksliniuose ir kituose dokumentuose. Todėl šiame straipsnyje siekiama atskleisti išvykstamojo turizmo ypatumus Baltijos šalyse (Lietuvoje, Latvijoje ir Estijoje), akcentuoti išvykstamojo turizmo svarbą ir nustatyti veiksnius, lemiančius vykstančiųjų pasirinkimą. Tyrimo rezultatuose pateikiamos apibendrintos išvados apie išvykstamojo turizmo situaciją Baltijos šalyse ir veiksniai, nulemiantys Lietuvos piliečių, vykstančių į užsienio šalis, pasirinkimą. ENTourism is one of the most promising economic branches for the small countries that are characteristic of a convenient geographical position, natural and cultural resources. Scientists, various state institutions and politicians have been paying attention to the incoming and local tourist for several decades. The outgoing tourism is still of secondary importance. Therefore, this article is an attempt to shed light on the peculiarities of the outgoing tourism in the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia), to emphasize the significance of the outgoing tourism and to define the factors that determine the travelers' choice. Having compared the condition of tourism in the three Baltic States, we can state that the situation in these countries is similar: the citizens of the Baltic States share the tendency to visit the neighbouring countries, have the same travelling aims, and predominantly choose travelling by car. However, several essential differences are coming into light: the Lithuanians travel most often, in Latvia and Lithuania one-day journeys prevail while the Estonians prefer journeys which take 1 to 3 days and travel by sea more often than the Lithuanians. The results of the survey of the factors that determine the choice of tourist journeys showed that it is the route that has the highest impact upon the people who want to travel. The price is the second important factor (>60% of the respondents pointed it out as important or highly important). The third important factor is friends' and acquaintances' opinions and suggestions (37%). Advertising and the agents' advice influences the respondents' choice least. The search for information, while choosing a journey, is one of the constituents of the whole system. The field of the search is quite wide. However, according to the survey the crucial factor while choosing a journey is the World Wide Web - the internet. It helps to choose and obtain a definite tourist product within a very short period of time. [From the publication]
